Last night’s zippy shave
Travel Raptor SE by @SlimGem
Stainless GEM PTFE (1)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
AP ShaveCo Dinosaur G5C 28mm synthetic brush
Pre-shave: warm shower :001_wub: and a couple drops of glycerin
Lather: Canada Shaving Soap, face-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: face wash with shave binky and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Lathered up and had a barely more than one pass WTG shave with my Travel Raptor SE. Other than a tiny touch up on my jawline, it was more than enough for a great shave. The aftershave was all chill and no sting. ATG pass would’ve been much closer, but also slower and riskier.

After this month of joyful shaves, I believe I like DE blades held rigidly through bending more than I like SE blades that obtain rigidity through being dummy thicc.

ASRazor shave or MMMonday + SEptember 30th 2024

Razor : Ever-Ready 1914 or (AKA= L.L.C). Mfg 1914-17, mid range. Interesting design and excellent stamping technology for it timeline. The audio feedback is enjoyable for myself + I'm usually rewarded with a close comfortable shave like this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (6) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Santa Maria del fiore croap, nice scented Vanilla tobacco(addictive) with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi"Moka express" 26mm 2band badger. excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.Big handle for a large nice enjoyable 2band knot for my general shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Santa Maria del fiore with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 9.5.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=:a17: Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Ever-Ready 1914 SE razor with a coated Gem blade.

Have some great shaves!

SEptember Wrapup

First let me add my thanks to @thombrogan for running this enjoyable event.

This year I decided to cycle through my injector razors. At first I thought I would just use a fresh blade in three or four of them. So starting with a new blade my E2, E3, and I1 eventually got six shaves with each. After that I thought I would see if blades already in the J1, L1 and M1 had any life. Each had two weeks of shaves on them. I was quite impressed with the results. Eventually I let the J1 and L1 rest. The M1 dial injector continued to give me phenomenal shaves. I have to say that razor was the star of the month. Despite a blade that at the end had 20 shaves on it I got the closest, smoothest shaves from the M. We'll see if I find some other challenge for next year's SEptember.

Last night’s zippy shave
Travel Raptor SE by @SlimGem
Stainless GEM PTFE (2)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
AP ShaveCo Dinosaur G5C 28mm synthetic brush
Pre-shave: warm shower :001_wub: and a drop of castor oil
Lather: Canada Shaving Soap, face-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: face wash with shave binky and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Switched up the pre-shave product to castor oil. Don’t know if it helped, but one drop spread well didn’t kill the lather. A WTG pass was enough. A follow-up ATG pass wasn’t enough. Some ATG cleanup was done until I gave up. Fun last shave of SEptember.

Very thankful to everyone who participated with me.
