Saddleback Large Satchel as a Notebook bag ?

Satchel is the way to go. So versatile, I mean a briefcase will always be just a briefcase, but a satchel like that is just everything.

So..... 7 (working ) days from Texas to Tasmania and..... :thumbup1:

First impressions, this thing is ruggedly made and I suspect their 100 year warranty is a good one on their part. Don't see this falling apart in the near future. The leathers nice , stitching good and it smells really nice :biggrin1:

It's heavy though 2.9 kg unloaded, I suppose you don't get rugged and light together

Here's a quick reminder of the stuff I'm carrying ( Toshiba M600 13.1" notebook, power supply and mouse, Panasonic TS1/FS1 camera and battery recharger, cable case, filofax and 500ml drink flask. No picture of me lunch as it's actually 1 AM here . :biggrin1:

So I'm glad I only went the medium case. The 13.1 notebook fits nicely. Don't think it needs another case around it as the leather's pretty protective.

You can see I've still got a fair amount of room to store additional stuff in both compartments . I think the large would be too big and probably heavy for my "manly" 5'7" stature.

Hopefully something that will last me ( the rest of ) a lifetime

My apologies for reviving such an old thread... but that bag is beautiful! I would love to hear your thoughts about your purchase after all this time... Do you Regret it? Love it? And some pics if you can post em :)

Fidjit,

Congratulations on your Saddleback briefcase. I think you made a great decision. I have a medium satchel, and was about to warn you away from that, but now I don't need to. The satchels can hold a laptop but it would be a tight fit at best. My medium can barely hold my 11" Macbook Air. By that I mean I have to cram it in diagonally, which then tends to distort the shape of the bag unless I fill it. If you're going to carry a laptop, then the briefcases make much better bags in my opinion. I hope to have a medium briefcase from Saddleback soon. Enjoy you bag!
