My exploding razor knows secrets
OCP (Omni Consumer Products) kept the face of RoboCop, so Officer Murphy had to shave like every gentleman...
This is just my rambling, but I certainly couldn't help humming the RoboCop theme song while I was making this razor.
.
It all started when I saw @TRS at B&B using the empty metal shell of a Zippo lighter to imitate an antique travel razor "Gorham" ↓, and I really wanted to give it a try.
Question about razors with storage handles. - https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/question-about-razors-with-storage-handles.662757/page-3
(I was shopping with my wife that day and I was thinking about what to do. Thank her for not killing me.)
.
My finished item uses a Zippo anti-fall shell as the material, and uses a screw adapter to make a detachable neck. In addition, this razor has several other features:
1. Turn the anti-drop case upside down so that the cover is at the bottom like the original "Gorham" structure, and also reduce the grip pressure distribution on the hinge and lock.
2. Because the screw stroke is different when the blade is installed/not installed, it will affect the directionality of the head and the handle. Therefore, I keep the screw base rotatable to facilitate parallel alignment and adjust the friction to prevent rotation during shaving; this way, the direction of the head can be freely changed according to the needs of the shaving operation.
3. It can carry five blades at the same time. I made a hole in the middle of the wax paper and put it on the cap screw to make use of the space.
4.The stainless steel razor head is Baili Legend Pro BRB3P, which was provided by a friend.
I shortened the screw slightly to make it fit into the Zipple case.
.
To be honest, ordinary razors are already very space-saving, and now that everyone travels with checked luggage, a specially designed "travel razor" is really not necessary.
But we have experienced giant robot animations. These things that can be disassembled, reassembled and transformed into small cubes are the romance of middle-aged men. Every time my wife hints that I should be more romantic, I will think of Transformers/Mazinger Z, which is really romantic.
.
A friend of mine insisted that this razor must have hands and feet, so I briefly granted his wish.
