I purchased these two NIB Rockwell R1 DE Razors today at Winners in Canada. Early Christmas shopping. I have no intention of breaking open the box but would like to know how they shave.

I used the R1 plate in my 6C the first few times I used that razor. It is a mild shave, but not bad. The included blades are just meh.

There's speculation that the R1 TTO is a rebranded Baili BR179. The Baili tends to get positive reviews and is generally regarded as a good, mild razor. I haven't tried one.

I used the R1 plate in my 6C the first few times I used that razor. It is a mild shave, but not bad. The included blades are just meh.

I was not aware that the R1 TTO was intended to be a similar shave as the R1 plate on the adjustables, but the description on the site confirms this.

"The R1 is the perfect razor to get started with double-edge shaving. Set to the most popular Rockwell size (R1), the R1 makes it nearly impossible to cut yourself, while providing and incredibly smooth shave."

Also, if paired with a mild Derby it could be a great head shaver. Of course YMMV.
