This is a GEM Junior lather catcher with a 1900 patent date.
A good friend gave me this razor, with the hope that I could breathe new life into the old girl and put her to some use. The blade stops were just about nonexistent.
You can see here that the blade has cut all the way through the stop.
I made a "fence" so I could file away the old stops and go just a little deeper than flush to create a step to locate the new stops, and get my solder joint below where the blade edge would be. I want the blade to push on brass, not into the solder joint.
