Please help identify this GEM razor and what blades?

Hi all

Please help me identify this gem razor and also what blades would I use with it? Do you have a link to where I can get the blades I’d need?

Thanks in advance!

I am no where near an expert on this. From an old chart concerning GEM Razors it states "New Improved 1912 Made in England (1936-1949) for Commonwealth Markets" It goes on to state American Safety Razor Company builds it's first plant in England (1936). Your razor could be on of those models as it resembles an American 1912 head. Don't be confused with the 1912 date as it's a patent date used to describe a certain head style for GEM Razors.

I don't know what Country you hail from. It takes a standard GEM razor blade. You can order off Amazon. The blades look like a paint scraper blade but you have to be very careful to get the ones that are finished for shaving. There are entire Forums devoted to GEM style razors on B&B. I would look for YouTube Videos on the GEM 1912 that show what blades are safe to use and how to load the razor. Shaving with this razor will require a different angle than a DE razor. Also please look through the threads on B&B for more information.

Your razor looks to be in good condition and you should enjoy many great shaves with it.
