Kim question for you... When you melted down your cube, Did you cut it into manageable sections? Assuming you did how long did you heat them for? I ordered a Parker Mango wood bowl that feels more like plastic. I will probably need to split into four or eight sections.
I don’t know how much heat a wood bowl would take. I put my ceramic CC Soap Lockers on the small back burner of our stove. It has a “melt” setting on the dial. I did cut the Cube into small cubes. I’m guessing 1”X1”,but I didn’t measure them.

I admit, I overheated a Cube once. I walked away and did something else and it boiled over, much to my wife’s chagrin. I use low heat now and find something to do in the kitchen as it melts. <eg>

With this being wood, and, a fairly soft wood at that I think I will nuke it rather than put it on the stove. I will probably cut it into eight equal sections and go from there. I really wish I had one of those soap lockers. I will likely make myself a tea or a coffee while it is going. Also do some physical therapy exercises. Lowering the heat is probably a good call, and also setting it on top of something like a paper plate or even a regular plate. Boiled over soap does not sound like something I want to clean out of my microwave. I can only imagine what doing that on a stove burner would be like. Thanks for the input.

If it gets to 9 days, I'd reach out. Also, if memory serves, it may have later sat at Charles DeGaule for a couple of days?
I emailed Theo last night and he answered this morning. He says sometimes they're quick and sometimes they're excessively long before they leave Greece. And he said he'll check with the Greek postal service and get back to me.
My Athena will be aged by the time it reaches me! 🤣

I had one stuck in Greece too... and I was a bit surprised... When Theo called them.. the package got on a flight out of Greece the next day..... I can't imagine calling the USPS and getting any response like that. I've tried to imagine the conversation I would have.....

I had a nice, day off, evening shave a few minutes ago..... I was a bit tired today and struggled to determine which razor I should choose.... I only had two days growth.... I was perusing the various threads and saw.... It's Timeless Tuesday... and I haven't used my lighter Timeless hybrid lately.... Bronze cap, titanium base plate... Ti Crown handle....

It turns out it was the right choice.. It got me in the Zen Zone quickly.... though to be honest, I was almost there already as I used the Rudy Vey Banded Faux Ivory brush for my pre-shave application.... Then Boris' BBS #1 soap applied with my SV silver crown cocobolo... All of them got me relaxed and in the right mood... The Perma-Sharp did it's job brilliantly, as usual....

Lovely shave... though I just felt under my chin... left of center, smooth... right of center, just a bit rough.... I will have to shave there on a diagonal to be truly against the grain.... I tend to have a natural J stroke toward the right ear.... It looks like I need to make a J stroke with the curve to the left there.... There's always something to learn... You'd think I'd have noticed this by now.... But that wasn't the case.... Something for the next shave...

Good luck talking to a human on the phone with USPS. I couldn't accomplish it.
I had a late night call from a number I didn't recognize... I almost let it go to voicemail, but man, I'm glad I answered it..... It was actually one of my Lambda razors.... It had been marked "undeliverable".... The nice woman said she wanted to figure out what was going on.... As she was talking to me... She noticed the mailing address was on the side of the package, rather than the top.... She apologized profusely and it showed up the next day.... Otherwise, it would have been headed back to Greece...

So... There are people working at the USPS who care about their jobs and provide good customer service. <eg>

I will say that I have had shockingly good experience with the Social Security office in Flint.

But yeah, my Indian 7 O'Clock razor got returned to India, I didn't get my money or the razor back, and didn't get to talk to a human about it.

Edit: oh don't be too sad. It is a cheap razor and I ended up finding one from a seller in a third country.

If 100c is hot enough, a double boiler might work well

Theo responded this morning!
My Athena (as per the Greek postal service) is definitely still sitting in Athens!
He says it's most likely taking long because of the Holiday's. The Greek post told
him it should "most definitely" be on it's way next week! 😆

After having dealt with them regarding a family member's disability, I can understand being shocked. Even getting my SS card replaced was like taking an oral exam from Vezzini!
