Pearl Flexi -- disassembly ?

I'm in the habit of rinsing off my Pearl's head, but not removing the cap and running water down the inside of the handle.

. . . and I started to think about how soap might accumulate in the handle, so I removed the top plate and ran water down the inside
. . . of the handle, and shook it hard,

. . . . . and the bottom knob (on its shaft) came down about 1/2", and stayed there.

I tapped it a few times, and it was gracious enough to return to its normal position.

But that got me thinking:

. . . Is there a way to disassemble the razor for cleaning, without special tools or skills ?

Thanks --

Pearl uses some type of locktite to secure the handle. They are not meant to be disassembled. Soaking in warm water and dawn will help to keep everything clean and usable. I use small pipe cleaners on my Pearl and my Rex. That being said, on the second use, my Pearl's handle came loose and I was able to disassemble the razor. Unlike the Rex Ambassador, the Pearl's handle is not machined to tighten to a specific point, keeping the adjustment properly indexed. The Pearl handle can be screwed on to the point where the adjuster will not work at all. Pearl locktites the handle to keep the mechanism properly indexed. I repaired my Flexi using JB Weld so the handle is no longer removable. Be warned, soaking in hot water can be enough to soften the locktite on the Pearl and Rex. No big deal on the Rex but not a good thing on the Pear IMHO.

Thank you!

I have Dawn and pipe cleaners. I'll limit myself to those, and water that I can put my hands into. That should be safe.

Vancouver has very soft water, I don't have trouble with mineral deposits, and I do "rinse, shake and put away" cleaning for all my other razors. I guess the Flexi will have to live with that, with an occasional pipe-cleaner scrub down the handle.

Thanks again --
