Other VaPer blends than Escudo or Navy's?

Hello gents,

Are there any other VaPers out there than navy or escudo? I really like escudo, and I think I have found my "category" as VaPer's. I have tried blends with burleys, latakia's, etc, and always find myself reaching for the Escudo.

I'm not so much looking for a match of escudo or coin cuts or anything, but like a mid to mild strength and not a lot of nicotine.

I also think I prefer the blends that are heavier on the Virgina than the perique from what I have learned.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Edit: I think all I have for VaPer's right now is escudo, PS luxury bullseye flake, and salty dog navy plug. I have enjoyed them all, so looking to branch out in this category

Remember to forget me!
I don't know what is available in the wider world, but the Virginia Perique blends I have (from UK tobacconists) are as follows:

Peterson Dunhill Navy Rolls
Peterson Elizabethan Mixture
Peterson Dark Flake
Charatan Victorian Mixture
Charatan Black Flake
Solani 633 Virginia Flake
Sam Gawith St James Flake
Sam Gawith St James Plug
Rattray's Dark Fragrant
Rattray's Old Gowrie
Rattray's Brown Clunee
Rattray's Hal O' The Wynd
Gawith Hoggarth No.27 Perique Flake
Germain's Royal Jersey Perique
McConnell Scottish Flake
McConnell Scottish Cake

I haven't tried them all yet, but I do know that the Solani 633, Germain's Royal Jersey Perique, and No.27 Perique Flake are milder in Perique than some of the others. I like all three of those, but don't know how available they might be in your part of the world.

I’ll add

Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake (has cavendish)

Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake.

I will second Sam Gawith St James Flake if you can find it. Rattray's Marlin Flake, Hal O the Wynd etc also fall into the category of if you can find them.

Others to try: (short list that I reach for)

Luxury Bullseye Flake
Luxury Navy Flake
CD Small Batch VaPer's

A lot of other GLP blends out there where the Va/Per shines first have dark fired Kentucky in them. I enjoy it. Windjammer, Penny Farthling, Triple Play, Jackknife Ready Rubbed/Plug, Haddo's Delight and Telegraph Hill.

I often recommend GL Pease Telegraph Hill. It is mild to middle strength with a primary focus on the VAs. Very easy to smoke and well reviewed.

GLP Haddo's Delight is a top notch VaPer that is easy to find. Union Square is one of my top 5 blends but it's a straight Va. C&D Exhausted Rooster doesn't get nearly enough mention. It's classified as a VaBur but there is perique in it.

Another VaPer that I think is under represented in forums is SPC Deception Pass. It's far better than its rating on Tobacco Reviews.

Orlik Golden Flake
Sutliff Victoria

Preferred the Victoria new. After a year cellared, it seemed a bit flat. The Perique in the Golden flake is not pronounced but it is a great smoke - pretty lively Virginia.

Old Fredders is fantastic. Full Virgina Flake bulk seems to have a more pronounced spice than tinned and even though it doesn’t have perique, it was my next love after Escudo. The real question is why do you want anything other than Escudo lol? 10 year aged Escudo is phenomenal and markedly different than fresh. Deluxe Navy Rolls, Ropers Roundels and Davidoff Medallions are all in a similar class. If you can find some McClelland 2015 or St James Woods you will be a very happy sole.

Orlik Golden Sliced
Peterson's Elizabethan Mixture, De Luxe Navy Rolls.
Sam Gawith Cabbies Mixture.
4 Noggins Prairie Wind (although it appears to have some undisclosed topping)

I'll also add the previously mentioned SPC Deception Pass, not your average VaPer due to the other tobacco's added, but one I like occasionally, mainly due to my being in UK and it's unobtanium status (like the Noggins and Orlik)
