One and done GSB. Maybe my best shave yet with the Era and I’ve used this razor more than any other DE.
One and done with a Feather.
I am entering the “one and done” club for now. Regardless of the blade.
Lately, I have found blades getting too dull very quickly. I have no idea why, this used to not be the case and nothing has otherwise changed.
Whatever blade I use, different brands, different purchase lots, I get one good 2-3 pass head shave ending ATG. Partway through the second shave, it stops cutting hair. I could scrape my head until the cows come home and get red and raw, but the hair will not be cut and stands strong.
It is not my technique, razor, prep, or anything else. A quick new blade and smooth as silk again.
I can’t figure it out, it is making no sense, I have gotten more than one shave before, although never more than several.
Until I feel like being sore again, I will just use a blade once.

One and Done Wizamet SI. Yup these blades are so good. Ridiculously smooth and sharp make a fantastic combination.

Last night one and done Feather.
Bought this ‘56 flare tip as a Christmas gift for my dad. He maintains a beard and has minimal desire to shave but with my engagement in the hobby he has shown a small spark. Mainly to relive memories he had as a child watching his dad. The TTO of the flare tip will help give him that experience and I hope it’s a fulfilling one for him.
Couldn’t give it to him without trying it out myself though. Very steep angle required and seemed to have a narrow window of engagement but overall a good, smooth shave.
