Old Spice

I vaguely remember my dad using Old Spice so decided to try it, it seems very weak compared to the original, very disappointing.

I live in the UK does anybody have a recommendation for a well scented, manly type aftershave that doesn't cost the earth.

I never had the real Shulton OS juice but Vintage Avon Spicy and current PAA Cold Spices should be spot on in scent and strength.

Get Paul Sebastian Fine cologne ( you can get aftershave Edt combo packs ..I think I paid £9 for mines ! for 60 ml of each )

Its basically Old Spice on steriods

Also get down to your local beauty base and get Denim aftershave for a fiver .Cant go wrong

I like PAA cold spices for old spice. I also like stirling barbershop. I love these aftershaves but the barbershop witch hazel is milder and better for your skin if needed.

In the US that would be Clubman's Virgin Island Bay Rum. I think it's not as cheap there, so maybe look at something from Floid.
Clubman’s ain’t anything like Old Spice. Clubman’s is a super-cinnamony concoction more suited to baked apples than shaving. I’ve come to the conclusion that all Clubman aftershaves stink (and don’t get me started on the Veg).

The Veg is terrible. I've got some vintage in the original glass bottle, and some new stuff that I transferred to a glass bottle...both are offensive to my nose.

I've never tried the Virgin Island Bay Rum, but use their classic barbershop scent after my head shaves.

I've got both vintage and Walmart Old Spice, and my nose isn't sophisticated enough to tell any major difference.

One of my standards.

...Vintage Avon Spicy...

If there is ever a shortage of Avon Spicy, I'll take the partial blame. I've bought every full bottle that I've found at flea markets and antique stores for 3-5 bucks...picked up 4 bottles yesterday for 16 dollars.

Obviously, I like it a lot, and detect a bit of a cooling effect that I don't get from Old Spice. Good stuff.

I have a single bottle from the Chess Edition (Pawn) that I use quite sparingly but PAA is an excellent current edition with good cooling.

I didn't say VIBR smells like Old Spice. The OP was asking about a cheap, lasting, masculine scent that wasn't Old Spice. That describes VIBR to me.

I agree that the veg is terrible, but my wife loves Citrus Musk and VIBR is among my top scents. I also think that the barbershop style one stinks.

I highly recommend it. It's my most used aftershave.

...but this one IS cracked.
Of my dad's favorites from back in the day (Blue Stratos, Brut and Old Spice) all are much weaker than they were and the scents are significantly different from the originals, with Brut remaining the closest to it's original scent.
As for a cheap replacement I have not found one although Burberry London (not cheap) has a strong scent "reminiscent" of Old spice.
