Just added a couple of new brushes. I picked up a Manchurian Eagle and the Jade X2L. The jade is beautiful. Maybe one of my favorite brushes. The monarch chubby may have it beat. I was looking at so many of their brushes I may have missed that the Eagle didn’t have a sticker. I am not a big fan of the words painted on the brush. I think it lacks the old world elegance that Simpson is known for. It was my mistake so nothing wrong on their part. I have wanted an Eagle for a while, specifically bc they are supposed to be a very comfortable. They shipped FedEx and it was here in a matter of days. Hope to see this collection grow.

Good brushes. I've had at least 8 Simpsons over the years, with no complaints. I still love my Best Rover, and occasionally use my Duke 1 when I want a small brush. Most of my other Simpsons were PIF'd to family or friends. There was even a time that, instead of buying from a US vendor, I'd email Mark at Simpson asking what he'd recommend, and have him pick the best of the batch. It cost a bit more to ship, but worth it.
Miketorgge, like I, appear to know one of the best times to buy from Simpson directly is during their Christmas sales.
I will keep that in mind for later this year. Eleven months to go!

Ive had a few Simpsons over the years. I started with the Chubby’s but let most of those go. I eventually found my favorites with the 57, Emperor 3, Duke 3, and Persian Jar 1 lines. The Classic 1 is a great travel brush that fits perfectly in the small travel tube. A little less dense than the Chubby’s and a delight to use. After trying all the grades of hair I came full circle to the Best. The prices have really gone up since I bought my Simpsons.

The milk churn and rover are on my list.
I prefer Best as well, and would put pure in second place. Perhaps I will get another Manchurian someday, but I will probably just stick with Best.
The name of the grade isn't misleading. I should have just taken them at their word instead of assuming the pricing would correlate to my impressions somehow.
My Father was WW-2 Merchant Marine, he had a Simpson brought during War in England, had it for ever, when he died the Brush disappeared. Though I would inherit.
The Best is all I know. I have the Chubby 1, Berkeley 46, and Wee Scot. All three are a delight. Which one is my favourite? The one I last used!
Those two are fantastic! I actually don’t mind the label on the Eagle at all. You’ve got a great looking bullpen right there, that T4 is gorgeous. I’ve got a much smaller den

I only have them in the tiny brushes so I don’t use them much. Need to get a bigger size to get a real reading.

Congratulations on the acquisitions. Nice growing collection. I hope to see it a lot bigger in the future.
I can Recommend Duke 2, Duke 3, Chubby 1, and X2L if you like medium brushes. The 50 Series is also excellent. I need still need to try the military ones, Captain, M6, and M7, but they look like great designs, too.

Duke would be a good option. The M7 feels nice in the hand.
