My love for chew

Gents-

I don't know why I never thought to peek in here, so I'll take this as my introduction. My name is Marc, and I love chewing tobacco.

I used to dip - Grizzly Mint was my preference due to price and flavor, with the occasional can of Cope long cut or even Skoal Vanilla when that was still out, though I tended to stay away from the "girly" flavors. Over time, my portion sizes increased drastically and it was quite noticeable to others. My buddy saw it and suggested I try some chew. I live in NJ so dip isn't very common up here, let alone chewing tobacco. The only thing available was Red Man. It was love at first sight. I explored some local quickie marts that are usually well stocked when it comes to tobacco and found some Beechnut, Levi Garret, and Redman Gold. Levi became my choice. It was delicious and I had the store by my house order cases for me since no one carried it. This went on for a while. Then, when visiting NC I found a shop down there that makes their own stuff. It blew Levi out of the water. I don't know if there are any laws against it, but they ship me chew once a month now. It's amazing.

Now on to my questions. Do you guys shop for tobacco online? If so, where at. I would love to try something new.

Hey Marc. It seems most here in BL smoke pipes and/or cigars, and typically the online retailers that support those vices don't deal in chew. A web search should help you though, because it is not at all uncommon to purchase tobacco products online.

On a side note, my local tobacconist is a master blender and has several varieties of chew, and also ships world wide. PM me if you are interested and I'll give you his info.

Welcome to the BL, Marc!

There are a number of people here who enjoy smokeless tobacco. Snus and nasal snuff get most of the attention, but I've seen a few people mention chew. I'm a daily snuser and occasional snuffer, but haven't tried chew and can't stand dip.

Ordering smokeless tobacco online can be a bit of a challenge. It can be done, but the shipping can be killer depending on the variety (snus in particular). For American chew, I'm not sure what the best site is, though I know lilbrown.com does sell it, but they only ship to certain states (I just checked, NJ isn't one of them though they do ship to PA if you have friends or family that could receive an order for you). Mistersnuff.com is the go-to online source for nasal snuff in the US and they carry British style (pigtail) chewing tobacco as well. Their shipping is reasonable despite coming from the UK. Good luck in your search!

I used to chaw baccy when I was a teenager. Got the hiccups while pedaling a bike uphill one day and swallowed a big gob. Let's just say that it wasn't pretty; I gave it up after that. :death:

Welcome....just getting in the Brown Leaf forum myself...can't believe I didn't notice it sooner. Anyways, Northener.com has a ton of smokeless/chew to choose from, but it ships from Sweden via UPS and that can cost a bit. I've settled on snus myself but have used tobacco in just about all of it's forms at one time or another. For chew, you should really try Stokers. They are a small company out of TN but I think their leaf is the best thing going as far as chew goes. Check it out if you get the chance.
