Merkur 34C HD Upgrade

2 days, but my 2 equals 4-5 for an average person ( me think) . 2 pass bbs not sure, my technique isnt there yet. But my 2 with this on par with 34c on 3 passes. Thats how I feel anyways. I use personna reds now.

how many days' growth did you have? wouldn't the OC side be overly aggressive for a daily shaver? or is it mild and just allows you to do a 2-pass bbs shave? right now I do a 3-pass with my Merkur 34C and Blue Personna's..curious to try a feather blade in the future..and am still looking to replace my 34C, want something longer and possibly heavier and am intrigued by the 100% stainless steel (vs ZAMAK) composition..

I think a heavier stainless steel is a good option. Which one? No clue, I'm sharing what I experienced.

I didn't mind the scent, thought I wouldn't care for it when the package arrived but it was nice after shaving, tingled my face a bit as well. Wish it was slicker, will give it another try, could have just been my technique in the lather

No way that any OC razor is LESS aggressive than the CC Weber or any CC/safety bar razor for that matter.

would you recommend the OSS to anyone and everyone? I'm intrigued by the OC side of it but have only ever had experience with the safety bar of my 38C (though I have a straight and Feather Artist Club RG I've used a few times and am making my way up to..). my beard growth isn't incredibly coarse but I would have to shave everyday if I wanted to be totally clean-shaven.

I did a lot of research and settled on a Weber. I just ordered a Weber Polished Head Bulldog Handle 3 Piece Safety Razor this evening ($70.00). I considered Above The Tie and also IKon OSS but they did not get very good reviews. This new razor will be added to my collection of nine razors.

Looks like my quote but I never said that. Not that I have the experience just read a lot....the Goodfella comes in mind for example. Open comb but notoriusly mild razor.

I don't think OSS is for everyone. Both its sides are pretty mild. If you like mild razors and shave daily, it can fit the bill. If not, Weber is something which can suit just about everyone.

I suggesr a muhle r41 with a weber bulldog or a UFO Kaiser short handle.
