What's new

Lip Chap that doesn't give me girly lips.

Carmex or Burts bees. Carmex has gotten me through many a winter and desert but I've just in the past few months gave burts a go and really like it.

I have used Carmax for years and it works great I also like Badger organic lip balm

It'll give you auction value for your car too - very versatile. Haha.

I like the Nivea dark blue tube "kiss of moisture" stuff lately. Very moisturizing, inexpensive, and no girlification.

Been using Burt's Bees in the tin for years, and it works great! Wondering how Badger Balm compares?

l'occitane makes the best stuff. seriously, it's like $10 but it blows away every single other product i've tried.

i want to give la mer a shot sometime, but that's like 4x the price of l'occitane.

Got some burt's bee's wax with pomergranite about 4 days ago due to this thread.

After 4 days in Connecticut's changing climate, I can say its not as waxy as chapstick but I don't buy into the burt's bees wax.

So far the best I've tried is that tub of blistex lip balm.

My search continues.

I got the burts bees honey. It's pretty nice. I love the smell, it smells like unpasteurized honey. Real honey. Works well enough for me. I've even found that I am applying it less than normal. Xept at work, damn they keep this place dry.

After reading this thread, I decided to try out the burt bees.

I don't mind it. It doesn't leave my lips shiney but I do find myself applying it more and more because my work place is very dry and no fresh air.

I"ll keep using it just to see what the hype is about.

Coming from a guy that uses his lips often (I play brass instruments), nothing beats DCT by Blistex ( http://www.blistex.com/products/dct )

Interesting. I used to date a flute player that had to get special lip balm(don't remember what it was) because she said regular balm had stuff in it that caused your lips to swell a little bit(or something... durr) which messed with the ability to play. She mighta been full of it though.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned body shop hemp lip balm. I live in a very cold dry climate and it does the job for me.

+1. It's a little on the expensive side, but it works well and doesn't leave a shine. Also, Nivea now makes a men's lip balm in a dark blue tube.

My best suggestion is to use Blistex Lip Medex at night before bed, then a regular non-greasy lip balm during the day. The Lip Medex can be found at any drugstore and comes in a blue jar. It does make your lips shiny, but if you use it before bed, you'll be amazed at how much better your lips feel in the morning.

My preference is for Badger Balm, I really like the lemon-ginger. It is not seen as often as Burt's Bees is, but is much more appropriate given that this is Badger and Blade.
