Just Peachy

Been putting off getting myself a peach soap for far too long. I’ve had my eye on Stirling glacial peach but just have not have pulled the trigger… I went on a bit of a sabbatical so I could use up stock. Silly, I know.

Anywho, now that it is out of season and not available (located in Canuckistan so retailers are slim) I have a couple of other options I maybe want to check out in the meantime. I can still get the Glacial aftershave, just not the soap.

All of you peach lovers surely have some great suggestions that I look forward to hearing about.

+1 to Peach & Cognac.

House of Mammoth Smash is my current favorite peach forward soap, but P&C isn't far behind.

I have WK Peach Karma and I find it a bit more cologne-like with peach in the background. Also First Line Shave James is another peachy soap I also found to be in this same style. Neither of these have me thinking peach when I'm using them.

I haven't tried this one, but 345 Soap Co. has Savannah which is one I've been looking at for months. A few members have posted SOTDs, but I have not seen any comments about the scent.

From 345's website:

" Savannah.... the juiciest Georgia peaches! Dripping down your cheeks as you bite into the most sweet, tart juiciest peach! As you pull it away from your mouth, you inhale the soft, sweet tobacco from your grandpappy's unlit rolled cigar! Then....you catch whiffs of something that smells like a sweet southern home. The scent is peach forward with tobacco, tonka bean, vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli, yuzu, cedar, & bay leaf! "

Deadly. The peach and cognac is what I had my eye on. Also the Phoenix shaving Immortal Peach and Aion Mallard Peaches and Cream were other options from the retailer I could get from.

An upstate upstate hobbyist had a Savannah Sunrise peach soap a few years ago.
It was ok.
He's since closed down.

My 345 Savannah set came and I'm definitely not disappointed in the scent. 345's description is exactly what it smells like. I was thinking this would mostly be a warm weather scent. Now that I have actually put my nose to it, it seems a three seasons scent at the minimum. It's going to fit right into what I think are the traditional autumn, Thanksgiving types of scents. So just based on the scent, this one is a keeper. I have to say I'm glad this thread was started as I had talked myself into skipping this one until Just Peachy popped up.

As for the actual soap, it's a soft croap. Too soft, IMO, to load from the tub if one cares about that.

I had seen it available 345 Savannah Shave Soap on the Anticatura web page store and the description of the olfactory notes of tonka bean, vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli, yuzu, cedar, and bay had intrigued me to purchase it.

It' s just the fragrance I was looking for.

I went with the peach and cognac and got a few shaves in with it. I love the way it performs but the scent is quite underwhelming for me. Maybe it will grow on me the more I use it.

I wonder if it's akin to "Savannah Sunrise" by Dr. Jon's? Lots of parallels, even in the description.

(Dr. Jons was an artisan soap maker that went out of business a couple years ago)

Unfortunately it’s not ideal to order from the states anymore. Shipping these days to Canada is $50-$100 depending the location. It’s ridiculous.
You are in luck, my Canadian friend. Top of the Chain has this soap too! Jump on it while it lasts.

Couldn't say since I'm not familiar to Dr. Jon's products. I have had two shaves with 345 Savannah and I love the scent of this one. The lather is fine and the post shave scent lingers just enough that you get whiffs every once in awhile. Zero regrets picking up 345 Savannah.

My favorite peach soap is Awakening by Hags. It performs and smells fantastic. It’s a homage to Bitter Peach by Tom Ford

Scent Notes:
  • Top notes of Peach, Blood Orange, Cardamom and Heliotrope
  • Middle notes of Rum, Cognac, Davana and Jasmine
  • Base notes of Indonesian Patchouli Leaf, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood, Benzoin, Cashmeran, Styrax, Labdanum and Vetiver

It already seems like several years ago, but it was only last year that Dr.Jons soap company went got out of business.

A real sin! They were the first American soaps I tried and every one I tried turned out to be a good choice for me.
