Is WTG underrated?

Using the right tool for the job isn't OCD, OCD is continuing to use a tool that's not working because you feel you have to. My goal is the best shave I can get.

I'm finding that a WTG pass and one or maybe two XTG passes gets me pretty good. I can easily do an ATG pass on my cheeks and sideburns but not across the jaw or neck. I posted about my current way of dealing with that when I get a little obsessive about the neck and jaw stubble. I break out my Norelco and light touch up those areas. I feel I get the best of each tool that way and don't feel like I'm cheating. The Norelco comes out after my post routine and my face is dry. For me, it works very, very well.

I mentioned this in a thread a week or so ago and was told by the self-proclaimed experts to work on my technique. Screw 'em, it works for me. What some fail to realize is that shaving against the grain will not work for all people for a variety of reasons and after time, you know your face and your expectations. Since I've quit trying for ATG perfection, any irritation has disappeared but with an electric touch-up on the trouble areas, I'm getting the shave I want with no more drama. Of course, I'm 61 and have been shaving for 40+ years so what do I know?

Some of you having this issue and in possession of a Norelco or other electric razor might give it a try. It's not sacrilege no matter what a few might say.

I have a spot on the right side of my neck that refuses to be shaved regardless if the razor is DE or straight, and for a time I'd go over it and over and get irritation from the scraping. I ended up a few months ago using my beard trimmer to clean up that spot after my shaves done and it's been working for me.

Thought I saw a glossary of abbreviations on the site once but couldn't find it now. I'm fairly new. Can I get some definitions of DBS BBS, etc?
