The stone has multiple layers visible on the sides, with the top coticule layer being hard, sparkly, with an almost hybrid looking appearance on one end, and a dark blue smoky layer running through the coti layer and up to the surface on the other end.
The BBW side is unusable for razors, with very large garnets protruding visibly from the surface, and a very narrow yellow / gold layer breaking through the surface in places
The coti side is lovely to hone on, with a beautiful almost grainy feedback, with no noticeable difference between the yellow and smoky areas of the stone
medium slow in speed and very fine, gives a lovely edge but takes a while
Posted this in the coti love thread before I had lapped it but it's the first time I've seen layers like this in a coti and wondered if anyone has had a similar stone ?
I've seen the smoky layers before in a few la dressantes but not the same layering
Any info would be much appreciated
