In a pinch: can of goo vs. regular soap

If you have a local store that sells Kiss My Face creams, you could grab a tube or bottle of that. It's a great option to have in the cabinet for the times when you can't brush shave (and it works well when you can use a brush, too).
Ignore this... I brain-dumped and forgot I was in the soap forum, not the cream. I'll go quietly, officer...

i don't use goo on a regular basis, but when i have to i use a can of gillette menthol and it's under 2 bucks. the menthol feels great on your skin, then top it off with some ice blue aqua velva. :thumbup1:

I must be weird but I actually enjoy the Williams shave soap puck from CVS for 99 cents. I hear lots of bad publicity, but I swear by the stuff, and Im no spring chicken either, hell give it a shot, you will be out a whole shiney dollar!!! :w00t:

If I were in a pinch and had nothing but the items you mentioned I would go with the Lever 2000 but use a little olive oil as a pre shave base.

Canned goo has Propane in it....No thanks..

+1. This stuff is pretty decent. If something's been around for 160 yrs, its probably doing something right.

Forgot to give you guys and update on what I went with. Ended up picking up a puck of Williams from a different CVS. Used it with what is hopefully my last shave with my Mach3 since my Red Tip should be coming in soon. It did indeed give me a much more comfortable shave than the can of goo.

I actually ended up at a Walgreen's near a friends house last night and picked up some VDH Deluxe too, but have yet to try it. Once my Speick stick from WCS comes in, I'll have 3 shaving soaps before I have my first DE shave. Is it too early for SAD?

Um, did anyone mention C.O. Bigelow creme (Proraso):001_tt1: from Bath & Body works? You know you're going to buy it sometime, might as well let that time be now.

Yes, this was mentioned, but I figure I've got enough to try for now. I'm more of the mind that unless the product is going away, I'm better off keeping my money where it can grow interest :).

Since I have soaps, I think I'll learn my way around those before trying creams. That'll probably be my first cream though.
