The blades have already been made, sold, and profited from. No reason to compound whatever sins were imputed by adding material waste to the equation.

I understand the sentiment but the company that makes the blades likely has zero anything to do with current events done by the government.

Two factors are at work in my mind, Ukraine first and foremost but also the performance of the brand appears to be below standard and it wouldn't be the first time time that I have thrown away a substandard blade in terms of its ability to produce a good shave.

No doubt about Ukraine. As far as performance goes: I have not used one in several years. I don't remember not liking them.
I also have collected a number of substandard blades over the years that I cannot seem to just throw away.
