While searching for synthetic brush information (for a new brush purchase) I came across a post where someone commented that a new Yaqi Tuxedo brush was significantly different than an older one. As best I can remember it stated that the new Tuxedo has less backbone than an older one. Regretfully I neglected to save a link to the thread, if anyone knows of this thread please share it with me. In other threads there have been comments about Yaqi changing the fibers in their knots.
I do not have any Yaqi brushes and have no way to verify if changes have been made. AFAIK Yaqi does not list a generation for their knots and I cannot find any specific knot or contact information on Yaqi's site.
Does anyone have any information about Yaqi knot changes? If Yaqi has changed their knots then buying a new Yaqi brush based on past recommendations may most likely lead to a disappointed buyer.
