Had to replace the "slide lock" and spring on my Glock 19.

"Can't Raise an Eyebrow"
Last week at an indoor shooting range, I holstered my Glock 19, with my thumb on the rear of the slide and the slide moved forward! Unbeknownst to me, somewhere along the line I had lost the slide lock (not to be confused with the slide stop). The slide lock is that piece you have to pull down on to enable the slide to be removed from the frame, it limits forward movement of the slide. If the little spring that pushes up on the slide lock breaks, the slide lock will just fall out of the gun. Apparently, these should be replaced every 10K rounds. I never knew that. I don't know how many rounds my G-19 has on it, but it has been shot a bunch, so way beyond 10 K. Has anyone else had to replace their slide lock spring or have done it as preventative maintenance?

I’ve replaced some of the older original versions with the new improved part. It’s been so long though Glock may be on a second improved version. Never had one break.

Bought a used G30 years ago and the previous owner squirted RTV under the lock and spring. A lot of RTV!

I have on police trade-ins (just change all springs).
read somewhere the spring on the trigger is the one that breaks more often (changed some, too).
I did change the beat up slide stop, too.
