I have no idea.
Say have you tried shaving with a double edged razor ?

There is no difference. In fact, all multi-blade carts are the same, in the way they are a gimmick and a waste of good money!
Why use 3 or 5 blades when 1 will do the job perfectly well!

But to stick with the question rather than add in a third option. Sometimes disposables have lower quality blades than the carts. I think that is true. However, in this case, since they are both "Mach 3" and they sunk a jillion dollars into the development of the blades, I bet they are the same blades, just clothed differently. I don't have any experience to go on here, just making a guess/opinion.
I wondered this too. Seen the disposables in shops near me.
They appear to be the same to me. I used a Mach 3 for many years before switching to a DE razor and I currently use the disposable Mach 3 when I travel. I can't tell any difference in the blades. The only difference appears to be the handle.
You don't have to use the disposable crummy handle; you can pull the cartridge off of the disposable handle, and use it with a standard Mach 3 cartridge handle. It'll be a much better experience overall.
This is also beneficial, as Gillette frequently runs Buy One get One free coupons for the Mach 3 disposable, but infrequently does this for the actual cartridges.

I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this thread title. Multi-blade cartridge razors are nothing more than a gimmick and mass-marketing scheme.

i'll say actually it will save you money....until you spend a few days here. then game over. i went a year without buying any blades, or new razor, or anything. stumbled upon this place from a google search, next thing i know i have 3 GEM SE razors, a blade sample pack, 3 blade banks, a new AS, Alum stick and my AD list is growing every day. As for the Mach 3's i have no idea. i think i only used them a couple times then went back to the Sensor Excel for years and years until i got in to DE shaving
Isn't the name of this sub-fourm called general shaving talk? This guy is asking a legitimate shaving question. Why be condescending? If you don't have anything constructive to say then why comment. That being said, I have tried both the Mach 3 and Mach 3 disposable and they both shave the same for me. I don't think there is a difference in the way that these razors shave. They are both good shavers.

I don't even know how to shave with a DE razor, maybe I'll have to research and look into that. It looks intimidating like I'll shred myself up with it.
I don't think any one is being condescending, We were just trying to save a poor lost soul.
you know just like the nice people who come around to your door trying to sell you a vacuum cleaner.

The very thought of multi-blade carts with adverts showing men smiling in the bathroom mirror as they swoosh it across their face makes me sick! The footballer kicking a chrome ball from a pitch out into orbit where it turns into a cart before returning to earth is hilarious! Funny what a million bucks, CGI and a sports star can do! It's all crap of course designed to take your hard-earned money and give you a plastic handle wrapped in alloy and a 6 blade head with more springs than a king-sized mattress! Ugliness at it's best! And the canned goo? Don't even get me going on that!
