Anyone use this knot? Looks nice, has a fan option. Any other synthetic mistura you like better?
It's a brand, they have a store on AliExpress. Mostly shave brushes. What is GBMP? Brand of Knott, I ask as I do not know?
True, the nylon fibers have gotten softer and there probably have been advances over the past decade to determine ideal loft ratio. But in all honesty each brush composition has their own distinctive traits. I've personally never been one to try and compare badger to boar to synthetic. Their strengths are just different IMOSynth knots have ‘grown up’ and can stand on their own merits, at least the latest generations.
If it is, it seems ridiculous.I'm confused
Is this supposed to be a mixed knot, comprised of badger and synthetic ?
Took me a while to type that because... well precisely to your point. If it is, it seems ridiculous.
Most people are choosing synthetic for animal rights reasons etc to get away from natural fibres. Adding natural fibres to a synthetic seems like a stupid idea.
A link to the specific knot, a photo and some details from the OP would help. I'm not about to research it on my own.
I'm not sure I agree with this. Lots of people choose synthetics, not for animal rights reasons, but because they prefer the performance of synthetic brushes. (That's me.) Or they like how inexpensive synthetics are compared to badgers. (That's me, too.)Most people are choosing synthetic for animal rights reasons etc to get away from natural fibres. If we see the big three star making them: Shavemac, Simpsons, Semogue, then I'll admit there is a marketI'm not sure I agree with this. I'd be open to trying a hybrid. Sounds interesting.
I agree with you there. I'm sure not a lot of people want one. And they certainly don't need one. But, again, I disagree that that most people buy synthetic brushes for animal rights reasons. If we see the big three star making them: Shavemac, Simpsons, Semogue, then I'll admit there is a market
I think synth brushes don't need to imitate badger, or try to. A few years ago there were many "feels just like badger" synth brushes around, but none of them did. I'd say if you want a badger brush or mixed natural fibre, get one. Otherwise synths do a great job and offer many variations.
Yup, bought mine for performance and efficiency. I’d love to see a APshaving synbad knot mixed with a good two bad badger. Mix the best of both worlds. I decided to try this one since it’s on sale and seemed real. There’s only one real review here so we’ll seeI agree with you there. I'm sure not a lot of people want one. Andrew does sell mixed knots, yet those are more the Mistura knots than synthetic meets badger.Yup, bought mine for performance and efficiency.
