Although I think MWF is more suited to face lathering I found an unglazed bowl had more "texture" and helped to generate a slicker lather.

Had a very soft and smooth shave today with MWF.

...as long as there are sheep to be rendered down, they'll probably keep at it...

I don't think sheep need be harmed for MWF.

Lanolin is obtained from washing the shorn wool, not from body fat. I think MWF uses beef tallow, but I don't have an ingredient list handy.
