Thanks for the info. That helps a lot but it still sounds like there are some different versions of the standard out there. Groundhog and Rac said their Darwins didn't have patent numbers on them and Groundhog said his had DARWINS LTD SHEFFIELD ENGLAND at the bottom of the handle.

I have two darwins. One is like the one you just purchased with a serial number on the head. The other one is like Groundhog's with no serial number to be found anywhere. Both say DARWINS LTD SHEFFIELD ENGLAND at the bottom of the handle. I think the one with no serial number is actual chrome while the other one is stainless steel, but I could be wrong on this.

hi all
ok quick question , if the darwin has no date on it ,when did they stop putting a date on ? the one i have has no date only .stamped darwin ltd sheffied,on one side ,the other side patent cobalt. ?? the markings are under the head , the box it came in is black underneath and a blue top , looks like bakelite?

Harvitz81 it sounds like you have a Deluxe and a Standard.

But racs' sounds different.
