What's new

Convince me

I used to shave in the mornings to keep a fresher looking shave throughout the day but find myself shaving nightly with a DE since I'm still learning and have to take my time with it. I still shave in the shower I just do it during my before bed shower after work.

I don't know that I'll ever wanna take the time to bowl lather, and still use canned shaving foam. But I'm gonna start using a brush for that on my face and see if it helps any.

My shaves really are only about 15 minutes since I don't do a whole lot of prep. I just take my time with the blade to face part.

Everybody:

Thanks for all the excellent, thoughtful advice. I've taken one step closer, and ordered some good soap and a badger brush. Plus, I'm going to upgrade to a better twin-blade cart. razor (Sensor Excel). Over the summer I may plunge in and try a DE razor, but right now my mornings are too hectic and I don't have the time it will take to learn properly.

I have the same issue. So, as others suggested here, I began my journey down the rabbit hole on nights and weekends when I could afford to spend extra time learning how to use high end grooming tools. Today my shave routine still takes slightly longer than it did before "The Switch", but it's 4:08 now, and I'm smoother than I would have been at 10am before, so the results are well worth the extra 5 minutes!

Good soap and brush are a great way to improve your results - congratulations! And I hope you have as much fun as I have in getting a proper lather. :straight:
