Boise Area Shaving Supplies ?

New to the Forum and the Boise area.. I am looking for shaving supplies locally and so far mostly a BUST..... SO the Big question is where does everyone in the Boise area purchase their Shaving supplies?

Sources I have found so far:
1. Art of Shaving-Boise Towne Square Mall - Smaller Not much DE Supplies thou.. Didn't see a single Straight Razor
2. Bath and Body Works - Boise Towne Square Mall - C.O Bigelow Shave Creams
3. Sally's Beauty supply- Numerous Locations - Derby DE Blades- Generic brand DE Razor, Disposable Straight razor
4. Antique World Mall- Boise off of Overland and Orchard - Some Straight Razor and iv'e seen a few DE Razors.. Really Spend'y place thou.. On the High end of the sights Razor value guide.

Other than these locations I have come up pretty dry of other resources..

Any other Places in the Boise/Meridian Area?

Looks like you found most of what this area has to offer.

Wal-Mart has the VdH luxury kit and soap, as well as the Micro Touch One razor, FWIW.

There's a beauty supply place off Orchard and Overland (Tri State Beauty Supply) that carries Stephan aftershave and a few others. The selection is pretty slim out here. Oh yeah, Bed Bath and Beyond off Eagle and Fairview carries a few items as well.

Does anyone know of a good local source for used razors? I have seen a number of antique stores BUT no real luck....

Boise is pretty sparse on the shaving scene. There are however quite a few artisan soap makers around town, you might check out the farmers market in the summer time off of 8th where they all pretty well have booths.

Well I found another small source :) I believe the name is Ulta it is a "Beauty supply store" Next to Nordstrom rack and Dave and buster at the Boise Towne Square Mall. It had probably 10 different brands of shaving products I have never even heard of.. I should have written them down... but they even had The Art of Shaving gift packs/ travel packs for cheaper then in the mall :) didn't buy anything because little $$$ for something I've never heard of... Def worth a quick stop if your in the area!

Nebraska is the same way. I do a lot online. Ebay, amazon, italian barber etc. There are some awesome deals to be found. Bestshave.net is awesome. The guy is in turkey so it takes a little bit. But his prices are dirt cheap.

You might try antique stores and estate sales for razors, brushes, soap dishes and/or scuttles, and unused pucks of shaving soap. Other posters have shared pictures of 'treasurers' purchased at these. You might consider the West Coast Shaving site; I purchased my sample blade packs, brush, soap, and razor stand from this excellent site.

I think most of what is out there in Boise is already listed here, but a few things to add:
-Most Walgreens have at least some basic selection but not always grouped together. If you look hard enough, you can often find house brand blades, Creamo shave cream, VDH soap, Clubman, Gabel's Bay Rum, etc.
-Boise Co-op has Herban Cowboy and a couple of other shave soaps as well as a few matching boutique aftershaves. Same with Whole Foods.
-Most of the Walmart's stock a house blade or Wilkies.

As with many others here, I end up buying most online. Most of the smaller guys will bend over backwards to help. What I can get from them is usually only 1-2 days away via Amazon Prime.

Cheers,
JW
