Blutt 1.2 Review - Revealing Comfort

Thanks again @Teutonblade for the excellent review that convinced me to check out the Blutt. I wouldn't have bought the 1.20 if the 0.67 plate wasn't available. A 1.2 gap just seemed like too much for anything but "every now and then" shaves.

Boy, was I wrong. I started with the 0.67 plate yesterday, and it was perfectly fine. It felt a lot like a 34C (my standard for an autopilot shave) but of course much better quality. Effortless and zero irritation, but not the most efficient shave.

Today I tried the 1.20, and it was astonishing. Virtually no increase in blade feel and just as effortless as the 0.67 plate, but much, much more efficient. I agree with others that it's just as smooth as the Overlander while being more efficient (I'd put it with the Blackbird lite for efficiency, but others may quibble.) It's all upside.

I'll still keep the 0.67 plate, it'll be good for days where I'm super stressed ahead of a big meeting or just need a "recovery shave." Otherwise, the 1.20 is shaping up to be an excellent daily driver.

Separately, big shout out to Paul at Trotter Handcrafts. That's his Kannon Mk II shape in British Green with an AP Shave Co. Pure Bliss Synthetic. Amazing brush. He says the know is somewhere between the G5A and G5C and I think that's right. It's 26mm which is a bit bigger than the 24mm SOC-style brushes I typically prefer, but the feel and performance are excellent. Turnaround, shipping, and communications were all first-rate.

Very happy you're enjoying the Blutt! Beautiful brush!

If I bought a Blutt, I would care more about. Product Wuality then pretty box.
Doesn't have to be showy like the Lambda, but it feels good when it's presentable like, e.g., Above The Tie, Blackland, Feather (a slight step up from the previous two), etc. The box of the Blutt and Wolfman are such that you'd want to discard them rather than keep them around. Even the box used by MdC soap is better than the ones used by them.

With Blutt, if they just had a razor cut out within that box, that itself would be a huge improvement over wrapping the razor in crumpled tissue paper.
