The Slant 37 is just really good. First of all it is like a work of art with the handle, which I really like. Secondly, it fixes the “problems” with all the other 37 versions on the market, putting it at the top of the heap.

1) Stainless steel
2) Tight tolerances
3) Blade tabs covered
4) No blade alignment challenges due to the replacement of posts with rails.

They took an existing design that’s been out for 80+ years and made it better.

Go outside of Yaqi and get the DScosmetic AX. Got the 3 pack zamak, really dig the 1.15 plate and want the titanium or stainless version to come back. The Ghost 90 and 37 Slant are nice (have a Tile in the mail too, you forgot that). However that DScosmetic AX seems to be the best AliExpress razor I’ve tried so far.

For me its easily the Yaqi Diagonal followed by the Yaqi Cerberus. I prefer razors with low blade gap but with decent exposure that handle similarly to a Fatip Grande. Never was a fan of the 37 slant design. I have an insanely fast growing resistive Mediterranean beard if i dont shave for 3 days, especially in the summer i will have a beard.

I shaved a fortune
I have 5 Yaqi razors: the Mellon SS and Zamak; the Slant 37; the Ghost 0.90; the 2 piece Diagonal.... I only got the Zamak Mellon to interchange the head parts with an R41... I'm still a bit undecided about the Diagonal.... It seems to be more efficient than I need....It could just be a skills thing I'm lacking... I use Timeless Ti Crown handles with all the 3 piece designs....The Mellon, Slant 37 and Ghost 0.90 all give me shaves lasting 12 hours.... That means, they punch far above their weight for me.....

I agree, you nailed the key improvements. I've also heard a lot of praise about its smoothness. Great review!

Interesting! It's definitely on my list to try. What makes it stand out for you compared to the Yaqi Ghost 90 or 37 Slant?

It is interesting, because I have heard that some people really prefer the Yaqi 37 slant over the Diagonal

That's a great lineup of Yaqi razors! I'm especially interested in your thoughts on the Ghost 0.90 and the Slant 37. If you had to pick one, which do you prefer more and why? I'm curious to hear your take on their differences. And how does each perform against the grain for you?

I like the The Final Cut and Mellon the best (both 416 and Zamak are great). Top Aggressive Slant and Knight Helmet are probably too fierce for me most days. The Flip Side head is fun, and the regular safety bar one (whatever it's called) is a cost-efficient version of the R89 to me. I have a zamak Telstar on the way.

These Chinese razors are my guilty pleasure. They shave well and won't break your wallet.

Would you say The final cut the gibbs dublicate is the best one?

I don't believe in absolutes. It's a good razor for me and I think could be for many. The ability to adjust aggression makes it very versatile.

I have the base model made of zamak. I am eyeing the brass version.
I was almost thinking about the ultima slope, which is the most mild version, but the Avanti is a generation better because of edge to edge clamping. The Perl Flexi is also in a similar family of razors for a better price. The brass version of the final cut gets some negative reviews and people find it more aggressive. Most people who compared the brass final cut to the zamak actually like the zamak version more, with some stating that out of all the final cut versions the zamak one shaves the best. Based on my research, if someone is choosing between the Yaqi adjustable, I would say the two best options are the Torqx and Avanti.

On a separate note, beginners should be careful when purchasing a Yaqi, as Yaqi usually forces steeper angles and many of their razors give a false safe feeling and can end up irritating the face. A beginner is usually better off getting a known beginner razor.

I don't have a lot of time with either, but so far, I think they are equal, though shave differently, as one would expect... Both are incredibly smooth for me... comfortable yet close... As I said... 12 hour shaves with them both... and both are very intuitive for me... I didn't have any learning curve with either.... I just bought the Ghost 0.90 razor head.... the Slant 37 is only available at the moment with a handle....
