My favorite soaps are Mitchell's Wool Fat, Valobra stick, Cella, D.R. Harris, Trumper's, and Ogallala. MWF, Cella, and Ogallala are all moisturizing soaps.
Valobra stick or its AOS twin are outstanding soaps...The rumor that both are the same baring the scent is confirmed by my practice of both of these soaps. Given the Valobra stick price, I would urge you to try it.
Cambridge Chemists has the refills for $36. About as cheap as you'll find.

Worth every penny IMO.
The best soaps I have found have all been French. And he best French soap I've found has to be Institut Karite.
Speick shave soap works great for me too.
Wish I had known that when I ordered mine!Remember to mention that you are a B&B member, you'll get a discount!
Art of Shaving makes the best soaps IMO.
Right now I rotate between Pre de Provence and Cella. Here are my quick observations on both (I face lather): ...
+1 I Finally picked me up a tub of Cella and gave it a run last night. Wonderful soap that has made it into my rotation. I'm glad I listened to everyone and picked it up when I did. The price is right also!
My favorite soap is both highly protective and moisturizing, MWF is just amazing.
Interesting that you mention these two. My current routine (when shaving with soap) is usually Pre de Provence shea butter soap to thoroughly wash face, no rinse, then build lather with Cella in bowl and apply over the PdP.
Forget what impelled me to try this soap wash first scheme, clearly something I read hereabouts, but when I received samples of PdP soap as a freebie (probably from Bullgoose) the combination seemed to work quite well.
