Badger and Blade in the News!

The comment on multiblade cartridges lasting five months to a lifetime is hilarious. I used to wonder how that Unknown Soldier guy in the comic books got that way, now I think I know....

Actually, back a few years ago (with my Fusion), I would basically never throw away a cartridge. One would last on the order of a 1-2 of months I'm guessing. Granted I was shaving once every 3 days, and I was hurting myself, and I was only making one pass, and I wasn't getting that great of a shave...Ok, nevermind, I get it now.

Great article  I ain't down with needing a badger brush though. I use a Gillette Standard boar that I got at a junk store for two bucks about five years ago and it works great.

Nice read. I'm not mad at the suggestion that a badger hair brush is needed... probably just an oversight. Anybody that looks into buying a brush will likely see less expensive options for boar's hair.

The premise that DE shaving will save money in the long run is probably accurate for the majority of the people that take part... we're a little skewed on this perspective because we obviously are interested enough in the act of shaving to participate in a forum like this. Fact is, if you went with the DE equivalent of what most cartridge razor shavers use, it would easily be cheaper.

I suppose the reporter may have simplified Joel's comments to include only badger hair. Nevertheless, it's a fine article that will guide many new experimenters to our simple shaving pleasure.
