I really like Mr. Bob's (all of his macro work is top-notch), but I'm gonna go with evnpar's coneflower.
I vote for grasshopper too (by Mr Bob). I like this type of photos very much.
(My second choice would be Sawblade's flower, it has most beautiful light)

I let the voting run a bit longer than typical because I was out of the country on vacation. That said, It was incredibly close this month. Before I cast my vote, it was a tie between Mr. Bob's Grasshopper and Blooze's Rusty Chain. I guess my vote will be the deciding one given that voting should have ended by now. With that, let me congratulate Mr. Bob on an outstanding photograph and for winning the August theme of macrophotography!

I will forward BRuhling a PM with a suggestion for the next monthly contest. I was thinking perhaps something such as land or cityscapes, or perhaps something to reflect the changing seasons (unless that would exclude members that live in tropical paradises
