3 Piece Tech Plastic/Bakelite handled version

Hello,
I have a few questions regarding this Razor that I hope to get answered. There is no date code so I am assuming that it is from 1938-1949. Can anyone explain the large S under the base and is this considered a WWII Contract Tech. Is it Plastic or Bakelite? As always I appreciate all of your comments. Thank you in Advance
Best Regards
Ray

Hi Ray

I believe it's one of these
proxy.php

They look to be US government issue Techs issued for the military from 1942 to 45. Note the shallower drainage holes, which is a move away from the triangular Pre-war style.

I have heard that 'S' stood for steel. These were not using strategic brass, so it was probably a mild steel for the base and end caps. I do not believe it was zamak alloy.

Pretty sure the handle and case was plastic. The plastic industry and technology to mass produce it had matured especially in the US by this timeframe. The shipping box in Mr Razors' example explicitly says plastic for the case. Logically the handle is too.

It's not a Contract Tech. This was a full metal razor with a fluted handle
