New gifs for the collection, thank you
I don't know, man. Actually I know, pores don't close, of course... However:...like cold water closing pores (doesn't happen).
yup, comparison happens here. This thread you are curious about is a funeral, actually. Question is, did you know the deceased?Sorry if I missed it, but anybody do a comparison of the new formulation yet? Curious to read how it is. Thanks
Here is a thread with some comparisons:

[EXPERIMENT] Seeking Testers for the New Formulation of Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap
For those who are fans of Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap, as well as for those who might not have been impressed with the previous formulation, I would like to invite you to participate in a testing experiment. Seeking your review and comparison to help us better understand this new formulation. The...www.badgerandblade.com
I believe they do.
A key lubricant ingredient that has been abundantly used as a shave lubricant is polyethylene oxide, a highly water-binding long-chain polymer molecule. When pulled as a result of the drag force, this molecule is able to elongate longitudinally and maintains a cushioning protective film under the cartridge, and in particular under the blade edges, through the formation of a partial elastohydrodynamic film 17. The presence of this protective layer is key in minimizing attrition of the skin from the sharpened blades.
I also believe that, in the context of shaving, the two cannot be separated. In the sense that cushioning is integral part of lubrication. While we can experience slickness without cushioning/protective film (just use any bar of soap, providing plenty of slickness) one can easily experience the eureka moment when using a good quality shaving soap. The latter offering residual slickness and cushioning. Ok, I will put quotation marks to please some here, like this: "cushioning".
All that matters, and all I care, is that we all have great shaves and share that experience on his board.
Amen, brother. Indeed. It's amazing how sitting on a stockpile of tallow can soothe the grieving soul.
I'm just grateful we were clued in early enough to take advantage of the residual supply in the system, that vendors didn't jack their prices, and that there was a very large residual supply available.
Still is available, for now, though it's no longer large.
Amen.
Observations on the Cutting of Beard Hair. Known since 1976... Ignored since forever...That Link is well worth a read - and not just for the phrase "partial elastohydrodynamic film"...
"The force to cut beard hair has been shown to decrease by around 40% as the hair becomes fully hydrated 2. Additional hydration time prior to the shave can therefore make a significant difference to the cutting force and consequently the sensation of pull and tug experienced. For this reason, it is recommended that men wash their face, or shower, prior to shaving"
Not to pick at nits, but it depends on the blood-filled walking meat sack in question. I know so many folks that the nicest thing I can say about their intelligence level is that they are house trained that I have serious doubts for the continuation of the free werld.A layer of what!?
Hmmm.
I think you get better shaving advice from a blood-filled walking meat sack than a talking box.
That’s true. I’m very glad I got a good stock of MWF tallow soaps. It's amazing how sitting on a stockpile of tallow can soothe the grieving soul.

We probably should, if only to record it for posterity. When the tallow is long gone future shavers will not understand about cushion and they will just think we made it up.so, maybe we need to simply have a thread about cushion and slickness after all. due to the death of sodium/potassium tallowate, we all are bereft and grieve deeply. perhaps the solace of grief will be found within the descriptions of soaps and their corresponding cushion and slickness. yea, though i walk through the valley of the shadow of non-tallow soaps....
I could get onboard with this assessment - Cushion as an aspect of proper shaving lubrication.I also believe that, in the context of shaving, the two cannot be separated. In the sense that cushioning is integral part of lubrication.
Kent=MWF. And yes, as of this moment, they have 111 tallow still in stock. It seems as though everyone who already knew about the reformulation has stockpiled. They were selling 100+ a day, it's slowed down quite a bit. It was at 230ish a few days ago.is it still possible to stock up on tallow MWF soaps?
Can someone clarify if Kent is the same as MWF ?
If so is this Luxury Shaving Soap Refill - SB2 | Kent Brushes - https://kentbrushes.com/collections/mens-shaving-cream/products/luxury-shaving-soap-refill-sb2 the tallow soap?
Thank you !

Is this a thing with any available soaps? I'd be interested if it is...Also, when it is refined to medical grade, it becomes hypoallergenic.
