Pipe Of The Day (POTD)

It's a lovely Sunday morning to sit on the patio with a cup and a bowl...

I did smoke the Peterson Arklow with the Luxxury Bullseye Flake on Saturday afternoon, though I did not finish the bowl. The perique in that is a little strong for me.

This morning, some C & D Kringle's Delight mixed with a bit of MB HH Old Dark Fired, about 80/20, in the big black sandblast foursquare Trade Winds billiard, the "Wolf pipe." I'm not done with it eiher -- it's a big bowl. Some of it I can enjoy this afternoon.

Up this evening: Watch City Simply Orange in a Radice Rind Billiard, one of the two 2019 PSD POY; Watch City Old North Church in a Meer I carved from a kit in the late '70's or thereabouts, the Dog Meer (notice the tooth marks); SPC Mississippi River in a Castello Sea Rock Briar KK. Smoky Black on the side.

Got home early on my last day of employment/eve of retirement. It seemed to me a simple codger blend was called for, or at least a codger-adjacent one. Some Match Field and Stream went into the Mastercraft straight billiard with the twin bore, and I puffed gently while perusing the 'Net and while my big black cat sprawled on my lap. (I puff *up* and away from him.) A pleasant thirty-minute smoke.

Happy smokes for you! Congratulations on your pending retirement as well!

Thanks for the good wishes about retirement, all! Today I slept late, and so far it only feels like an ordinary day off. The realization will take a little while to kick in.

To celebrate, I finally opened the Sasieni Windsor Oom Paul I ordered almost three weeks ago. A beautiful pipe it is, though not as big as I expected. The chamber is deep. I'm not thrilled with the button -- after my Petersons, it seems almost nonexistent -- but I'm not much of a clencher. I packed it with some Best Brown Flake and Stirling Flake and am smoking it now. I'll have to learn how to keep the smoke from going into my eyes and up my nose when I don't want it to; I'm not used to having a bowl so close to my face.

ETA: a good 45-minute smoke with relights. I think this pipe will work out fine.

A good feeling, right? Congratulations and enjoy your time.
