Sunday Schick shave, June 2nd 2024

Razor : Schick adjustable injector model 3, Mfg 1970-72, lots of ranges. Blade seems forward so I use lower settings. This is a well built adjustable as shown by its age. I receive decent usually with this adjustable. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : SChick (1) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock XXX, nice scented clean fragrance to myself + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Casino clubs" 26mm timber wolf knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock XXX splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : Dial 9.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=

I never thought I'd say that I'm a SISSY, much less be proud of it...

I will answer the questions from the first post in the thread:

1. Tell how many Injector Razors are in your stable.

I have 13 injector razors. Well, plus one in the mail ( a British Pal Injecto-Matic). So 14.

2. Tell the types that you own.

The collection consists of assorted Schick Type E, G, I, and J razors, plus some Pal Injecto-Matics.

3. Tell what percentage of your shaves are with Injector Razors compared to DEs, SEs, and other types.

Right now about 25% of my shaves are with injectors, 15% with Gem-style razors, and 60% with DEs.

4. Say which Injector Razor(s) you like the best, and why.

My favorites are the Pal Injecto-Matic (super efficient while feeling like velvet on my skin) and the Schick E2 (which is even more efficient than the PAL - but I feel the blade more with the E2). The I2 Hydro-Magic is also a favorite.

5. Say which Injector Razor(s) you like the least, and why.

I don't really have a "least favorite" injector, they're all good. I do greatly prefer the more efficient models, though.

6. Give your conclusions about Injector Razors.

Injectors are a great fit for me. That thick, rigid blade does a fine job of cutting through my coarse whiskers while being super gentle to my skin.

I shaved a fortune
I'm trying to find the best blades for my 3 Schick injectors..... There seem to be two choices and are not that easily identifiable for me, being color blind... My wife helped or tried to help me... The "yellow" Schick blades made in China have been recommended but I see the "Plus" blades in yellow packaging as well....

Which one is the best: the regular or the plus, which I think just has a chrome coating... Your help would be appreciated.

What about Supply injector blades?

I've never tried the Plus, didn't know they were on the market until you posted. The regular Schicks are my favorites. You can also find Personna under various names and the Supply Black Label, which are made in Japan.

The package on my "regular" Schick blades claims they are metalized with chrome and polymer. Maybe someone is fooling with the description on Amazon. I bet it's the same product. Barcode is the same.

Has anyone considered the "Injector II" blades from Japan? It is a two-bladed design that works with injectors.

They aren't particularly cheap, though. I only know about them because my 1970s vintage Feather came with a magazine of them.

These are still available online, but from Japan it seems.

I've only used the Chicks so far, and I have no complaints with them.

But of course I have some current Personnas and some NOS vintage Made-in-Holland Schicks on hand, I just haven't tried them yet. And obviously I have some NOS Personna 74 tungsten-coated blades on the way to me.

Because, you know...rabbit holes... 🐇
