Served aboard the USS Horne, Guided Missile Cruiser as the Damage Control Assistant.

Here's one of my Unit patches, Guided Missile Cruiser USS Horne, CG-30. I was on her during the first Gulf War. Desert Shield/Desert Storm patches and my fruit salad.

  • Father is a retired USN Master Chief (ETCM) - 30Y
  • Younger Brother is retired USN E6 - 20Y
  • Various uncles along the way - USA, USAF, USMC

I joined the Army after graduating high school, serving with the 82nd Abn. Div., 307th Medical BN. '74-'77 Stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC
E-5 MOS 91B2P medic.
A few years later I join the Louisiana Army National Guard, still E-5 and a medic with the 159th MASH
Later transferred to 813th Med. Det. Helicopter Air Ambulance
Graduated Nursing School, transferred back to the 159th Mash as an officer.
With the 159th MASH, went to Desert Storm in support of 3rd Armor Div.
We were the forward most surgical unit in Iraq.
I left the military shortly after Clinton became President.
Three uncles were WWII vets. Two older cousins Vietnam vets.

Fort Bragg... When the President dials 911, the phone rings at Fort Bragg.... If you ever were there you have heard this PLENTY of times.....

I was injured while on active duty and left active duty...

4 ships, all shooters (a Spruance-class DD and 3 cruisers - USS CHANCELLORSVILLE is the only one still in commission) wrapped around recruiting, a Great Lakes tour, a very brief stop at DEVGRU, and a couple staff billets. Currently doing ship readiness assessments for Commander, Naval Surface Forces Atlantic.

Oh, and my "official" command board photo...

Served at NSB Bangor and with Kilo Co. 3/1 Horno/Pendleton. The presumptuous call it the "Thundering 3rd," those of us that lived it called it the Thundering Turd. Very proud brother of Martin Gonzalez, a real hero.

I knew Brad Kasal when he was just a 1st Sgt.

No pictures. I'm not handsome like Price.
