How Do These Gillette Platinum (Russian) Blades Rate?

full

I have and like the Gillette 7 O'clock Sharp Edge blades (yellow pack) from Russia. Are these Platinums better?

I just found a listing on fleebay for those and wondered the same thing. Anyone know how they compare to the Swede's?

these are the successors to the swedes. However these are now made in Russia in the same factory the 7'0 clock yellows are made.

These have glue spots on them unlike the swedes and consensus seems to be that these are very good blades but not as good as the swedes

You can get them cheaper than the swedes...price seems to be about $ 24-25 for 50 blades so substantially cheaper than the swedes

So they will more than likely be similar to the Yellows and Super Iridiums.

And yet, more expensive. :w00t:

i'm about to cry about the swedes, by far the best blade ever. i had to order 100 IPs and 100 red packs out of fear of losing those too.

I have them locally. But they cost an arm and a leg: D.Kr. 43 for five blades, that is $ 7.50!

Regards.

Not that I know of. It seems that they are only available in Scandinavia. Perhaps someone from Scandinavia can help here?

They're available here in Sweden but at a price of 59 SEK a pack (6.94 USD).

I get mine from my father in Greece though. They cost 1.75 Euro a pack there.

Swedes are pretty much the only DE blades you can find in Finlands stores. These are available practically in every grocery stores. Even bigger gas stations have these. Last time I walked by the these in my local grocery store the price was about 4.5€.

The grocery near have them at € 2.95 but, a peculiar thing of the Portuguese market, it's Pay five and have one free just here it happens.

If anyone is interested...It can't beat the greek price thought...

2.29€ here, but the pack only has 5...

Sharp and smooth. The first shave was disappointing, I managed to cut myself WTG :tongue_sm. After that, the results just kept improving. I get great shaves out of these (albeit with a bit of irritation at times).

I am not so sure if they are worth the cost (4x as much as the Red Pack Personnas) which are not as sharp, but work very well.

The five pack is the new one...the blades are made in Russia(?). The 5+1 are the old production, i've tried both recently and this new pack is a little bit inferior.I've seen a thread here about it comparing both.

But those G' days are gone now...Today Derbys and Feathers only. Zen is the word!!

How common is this to Swedes. I normally use Red Personnas and never seen this sort of "rust". This showed up after 24 hour from first shave.

I had the same spots on the old blade when I put in a new blade just now. It had been in the razor for 14 days, though.

These blades are terrific! My dad has visited Dubai twice in the last six months and he usually buys out the stores he finds them in. His latest trip he secured 172 blades which averaged to 14 cents a blade! I find them to be some of the best blades I've ever used.
