So . . . what's up for August?
I ended up liking the Hendrick's for July so much I had to go get a second bottle today! And a cucumber. ![]() It's still hot enough here for another clear spirit, but how about a change of pace . . . this is a newish example from Texas's burgeoning "microdistillery" scene: ![]() Not sure how widely distributed it is yet, but I'm looking for an excuse to pull the trigger! ![]() NANP™

Since my favorite gin - Hendricks - already reached Spirit of the Month status, I'll put one more out on the table: Citadelle Gin
I was pretty shocked the first time I had it as it taste like a very top shelf gin but sells for about 1/2 the cost of Hendricks (at least here in Virginia anyway...). It's definitely in my top 3 of gins...

December is my month for Drambuie. Gives you that nice warm glow in front of the tree.

My two cents:
Woodford Reserve bourbon as a number one. Would like to try Hudson Baby Bourbonhttp://tuthilltown.com/products/aged-spirits/hudson-baby-bourbon-whiskey/ Would also vote for the absinthe. Tried if for the first time last month at The Blackstone hotel in Chicago. Great ritual to set up the drink and an interesting taste. |

Howdy folks. Figures my first post on this board isn't about razors, shaving, etc. but it's about absinthe!
I've had but one - La Fee Parisienne. Seems to get consistently high reviews, even though it's one of the less expensive ones out there. And it comes with a spoon - bonus! So that's my vote for a review. And for the record, I like Hendrick's gin. And Boodles. But then again I like lilac vegetal too so maybe I'm weird ![]() -ben |

That reminds me I have some in the freezer. Goes nicely over some vanilla bean ice cream.

I 2nd the call for a vodka. Give me an excuse to buy something new! I have plenty of bourbons and Scotch single malts. The "your own eggnog" thing was meh, imho of course. Me wants a real spirit not a frothy coffee mug with nutmeg on top of foam....

The vodka thing sounds interesting. Has anybody tried one that was made with Glacier or Ice-burg water?

No I haven't but here in Alaska they make a vodka I'm wanting to try, I think it might be made with glacier water. For $50 it better be!!!

Agreed. Though I'm working my way through some Maker's at the moment. I should've bought more bourbon when I lived in Kentucky. I have a huge hankering for some Four Roses single barrel...

The Spirit for November was: Rye as in Manhattans, my drink of choice for the arrival of chilly weather.
December: Scotch and Drambuie as in a Rusty Nail. My Yuletide fav. |

Delamain Pale and Dry XO cognac.
This is a classic cognac from the Grande Champagne region in Cognac and from a real quality house. It is aged for around 25 years, and has a "pale" colour because it has only it`s natural colour from the old Limousin casks. This cognac is a must have for me personally, so floral and complex, matching a Trinidad Fundadores or H. Upmann Sir Winston to perfection. For the money, this is the best cognac I know of.

I think Redbreast Irish Whiskey would be a nice selection for March.

The past few months have been really great. For April or May I'd like to see a good tequila!

There is one that I've been drinking ever since I turned 18 (legal drinking and smoking age here in England) from the Isle Of Skye just off the west coast of Scotland; Talisker, costs about £25 per bottle, so roughly $38, but worth every penny to my taste
