Anybody been to the Creed shop In paris?

Pricewise, is this a good place to get their products?

I haven't been there myself, but I remember a thread a while back that suggested that prices were the same as anywhere else. What would certainly be different would be the selection. A year or so ago when Vintage Tabarome was going to be going out of circulation, I exchanged email with the head of distribution for the US. He mentioned that once the Tabarome was sold out in stores, the only place it could be found would be at the Paris shop. I took that to mean that there might be some unusual offerings there.

This is good to know. I'm going to Paris in April. I have zero exposure to Creed fragrances, so I'll have to check them out.

It seems like it would the ultimate place to buy Creed. It ought to be the "freshest" you can get.

I've dabbled with some different Creeds and I swear some of them run out of gas. I was able to return a GIT once. It had no longevity whatsoever and I have never had that problem with GIT.

Pricewise, I think they'll stick it to you at about the same rate as Nieman. But, they may sell a wider variety of their scents in the smaller bottle sizes which I would find a plus.

Another big plus if they had some of their scents that aren't here anymore: Vintage Tabarome and Cuir de Russie. If you can get small bottles of those- Wow. They only sold them in huge flacons here. It was like an investment.

Read up on the Creeds before you go. An interesting company.

Just got back from a Neiman Marcus store and got a couple of Creed samples. One was actually Cuir de Russie - they had a very small amount left in a spray flacon and the lady was so nice to fill a sample vial (maybe 2- 3 mL) for me with it. I put a dab on my cheek and on my forearm - half an hour ago - its gone! My wife does not smell anything on me anymore, and I do not smell anything anymore on my arm. It was, however, when first applied, very leathery.
The other sample I got was BdP, and I must say, I like it, still going strong now after one hour.

I must say the lady on the counter was knowledgeable and very helpful, she was a trained Creed sales person. They had a huge selection of all the Creeds out in testers.

Yeah Rudy...I like a lot of the Creeds but they scare me for that reason.

If any of their hype is true, they use a lot more "natural" ingredients.
I tend to think that may translate into more inconsistency from person to person.

I also think it doesn't age well- again, it might be from their ingredients.

I'm learning not to trust an "in store" swipe though. The SAs can be a little greedy with the spray.

I try to get a vial or buy a decant so I can do a real test after shower in morning.

The Creed dealer near me still has Cuir de Russia too. Vintage Tabarome has, sadly, vanished into the bowles of the Creed corporate HQ. Hopefully my stockpile will last until they decide to start selling it again.

FYI, the Perfumed Court still has decants of Vintage Tabarome.

I'll have to look and see what they're charging. I got in under the wire with a bottle, but I'm planning for a long life and I don't want to be caught short.

I hope that day comes soon. Had I known it was going to disappear, I'd have bought the big flacon. Instead, all I have is a large sample.

It's a shame that Tabarome is the one that they picked to go down to the dungeon. To me, it's their best men's fragrance.

I'd get a decant, but it'll just be frustrating if I end up liking it.

I agree that it is their best men's fragrance - the one that lives up to all the Creed hype. So I cannot help but wonder if they didn't dungeon all their true classics to make their modern creations less pale in contrast.

I visited the Creed store in Paris last Spring, really nice store and as you would expect they had a great selection-I was there to try the Bois de Santal which I think is pretty hard to find elsewhere. Prices were not any better than in the US based on my experience.

I did ask about the Vintage Tabarome but the woman working there kind of ignored me and kept suggesting other scents-One of those classic cases where my French wasn't good enough and her English wasn't good enough, so I just gave up after a while! But again, very nice store in a great part of Paris-

I agree. There would be no miscommunications if I went to the CREED store! I'd make damn sure that they understood every word of what I was saying...

I was reading up on basenotes about their fragrances. It seems that I naturally go for the older scents--not that I don't like recent creations, just that I prefer things that have been around or a while. I was surprised to see so few older scents available for a company as storied as Creed.

I think a lot of us are right there with you. Some of their older stuff is more in the vein of B&B types. Kick azz, traditional scents. GIT and BdP are probably their most "recent" hits that many of us really like.

But it seems many cologne buyers have moved away from their older scents. That's why they tinkered their Vetiver and Santal offerings.

Younger guys lean towards some of their light scents like Imperiale, SMW.

I'm bummed out that I never saw smaller size offerings of Tabarome or Cuir de Russie. I like them, just never wanted to "invest" in them with a giant flacon. I fear the day when GIT falls into that category. But I think that's their best seller.
