Trumpers - "Dandy" Colognes
I ordered a second samples pack from Trumpers as I had not received their Sandalwood cologne previously.
I am glad I requested another sample pack as I especially enjoy Trumpers Sandalwood and Curzon colognes.
This said, I wonder how many men actually own/enjoy any of Trumpers' "Dandy" (I couldn't think of a suitable term) colognes such as Milk of Flowers, Violets, or Lavender Water?
Do many of you guys enjoy these types of Trumpers colognes?

i really like the Ajaccio violets. it's like an ultra-refined version of grey flannel's opening note, sort of. at least that's how i remember it--i just bought a splash bottle of it today, in fact.
i haven't tried milk of flowers or lavender water, but i'd bet i like them. i love trumpers fragrances and especially like florals.
another great floral scent is taylor of old bond street no. 74 original

The Lavender Water doesn't seem well-liked by most guys, but I happened to appreciate it quite a bit. It doesn't last long at all, though.

I know exactly what you're saying...these ones are much different from their other men's scents (Curzon, Eucris, Astor, etc.) and are quite feminine to my nose. I wouldn't wear any of the above three though I do put on a bit of Skye every once in a while.

"Florals" would have been a better term... thanks.

Just my opinion, but I think more mature gents (including myself here) can pull off the more floral scents, especially when well dressed. A lot of the traditional British colognes have a lot of floral notes.
These scents are very old style, traditional barbershop type frags. To me the emphasis is more on a "clean smell" rather than flowers. (But I haven't tried the "dandy" scents noted).
I work with a lot of guys who think the word lavender is "girly," let alone the scent. BTW- they shave with bath soap and Sensor razors or disposables.
My passion about a good shave is well beyond their comprehension, let alone belonging to a forum with others of my ilk. Lavender to my knowledge is the kind of scent they used to smack all over a cow poke when he came in for a shave after a long trail ride.
When you've messed with frags for awhile, I think it comes down to your own comfort level. If you sample a scent, you usually know if you can be confident in wearing it.
I just took a quick glimpse at the Trumper's line in basenotes and they are all "male" frags. While they have pretty confronting names, they mostly seem to contain other more currently masculines notes as well. But I'd be the first to admit if someone asked what I was wearing, it would be tough to say "Milk of Flowers." Ajaccio Violets has some really raving positive reviews...but most thought it's longevity was poor.

I gave the sample of the Violet cologne to my wife. I think it is very feminine.

Some people just don't get it. If you are that self conscious about how feminine you are going to smell... chances are no cologne will make you feel masculine (sans some gasoline and sweat with a hint of bushfire).
If you are confident enough in yourself the only opinion that matters is YOURS.

Hi Macion,
I am not sure where you are going with your rant. (Maybe the original "Dandy" term?. Please read the thread.)
I am wondering how many guys enjoy Trumpers' floral scents.

I *love* lavender and would gladly wear it, but that's one of the scents that sends SWMBO into a sneezing fit. So no lavender bath soap, shaving soap, AS or cologne for me. The only way I can get away with it is to grow it in our garden and even then she sometimes has problems with it...
