with the extra dense knots, im wondering how folks like the size of their heritage brushes.
1/1 users do you like the stubby 1? or maybe the stubby 2 to compensate for such a dense knot...

I talking with Jim from Vintage Blades a while back and he said most people seem to prefer the Stubby 2.

i think of myself as a small brush kind of guy, and am curious if the Stubby 2 feels like a 1/1 in super. It's possible with a knot that dense or maybe im just trying to justify it since VB is out of the stubby 1.
I have and regularly use the Heritage Victorian. That handle may not be for everyone, but the knot is very similar to the Emillion. I have it in Super, and the knot has great backbone, but is unbelievably soft at the tips. Simply put, it's really hard to go wrong, as it handles soaps and creams equally well and can be used in both bowl and face lathering with equal efficacy.

The Stubby 2 is a very dense knot, and I find it big compared to my Shavemac 177 which has 45mm loft and 20mm knot. It's soft, but still 'scritchier' than the Shavemac in finest.

I had a stubby 2 and still have the Emillion, I prefer the Emillion ever so slightly over the Stubby.

The only Heritage I own is the Emillion, but I love the handle! It fits oh, so well in your hand.
However, I notice that I do have to use more product than normal because it is a larger brush and needs more product to fill out a good lather bowl.
I only got the Heritage in 1/1 but I have no complaints about it, it is most comfortable as a face lathering brush and excels in it.

Thanks folks!
I really like the 1/1 in Super, and wonder if the Stubby 2 may feel similar in size as it has the same loft, and although it has a larger knot the bristles are so much denser.
does anyone have the 1/1 super and the stubby 2?
Working with Jim at VB, I picked the 1/2 in super, and I believe it to be perfect for face-lathering soaps -- not too big, not too small.

If I had to pick one it would be the Emillion. I love the larger handle, and the knot itself is not too big, not too small, but just right. I thought the knot on the Stubby 2 was a touch big, but I did love the handle. I really do not like the handles on the Rooney's finest brushes, and figure if I'm going to spend the money I want a Heritage handle.
Heritage is far superior to the regular super. I love my horn rooney but it was a shedder so Im getting a replacement. Rooney has something special coming but I cant say anything just yet.
