Is there a peppermint aftershave that leaves you with a cooling sensation in the scen

Is there an aftershave that leaves you with a cooling sensation in the scent of peppermint that also acts as an all day moisurizer that does not contain menthol, camphor or eucalypis scents. Also curious... does pre shave oil really help all that much with less nicks?

Good question about the aftershave and I dont know on that. However about the pre-shave oil.....I noticed for me that it soften my beard nicely for me. Helped the blade slide smoothly.

Hydrolast AS Skin Conditioner comes in a peppermint scent and it is a very good all-day moisturizer. You can read reviews on it here.

I personally do not like pre-shave oils and find them to degrade the quality of my shave.

Have you tried Anthony Logistics, available at Nordstrom? It's labeled as unscented, but one of the ingredients is peppermint. I lke it (and the shaving cream) in the summer because it is very light.
The aftershave's scent does not last long, and I like that, too.

I see you like the roberts stuff. What is your opinion of the method of shaving he promotes vs standard DE wet shaving. He says that his method will give you zero nicks or razor burn---what do you say?

I say that a good pre-shave routine, a quality soap or cream, and good razor technique will give you zero nicks or razor burn. I do believe his products to be quality and based on one of your other posts about seeking a cream without parabens, his line may very well appeal to you.

While I didn't stick with his method, I've continued to periodically use the cube as a face wash and still enjoy his AS skin conditioner during the cooler months.

I also use this in the cooler months. A little goes a long way.

Rubbish.

This is akin to saying that there is only ONE cologne that is universally liked by everyone.

Turd Science, pure and simple.

Everyone has different skin, pores, hair, sensitivity, patience and healing recovery times. A "universal" approach doesn't work.

Insofar as peppermint, the Nancy Boy and the Anthony Logistics Razor Burn Repair are both excellent products which cool without burning (perhaps less so, the Nancy Boy) and does not allow the scent to linger on your face and conflict with your intended cologne application.

Many thanks to all who contributed to my question. I'm not after a scent so much, just a cooling sensation without the similar aroma of proraso (methol, camphor, eucalyp). I just want to try something different and you all helped me a lot with great ideas

I recently bought some Peppermint essential oil and added a few drops to some Speick after shave balm....quite cooling, also smells and feels fantastic!!!

The AL is VERY pepperminty! I noticed no menthol/eucalyptus either, but what I had was a sample, so I didn't see any ingredients.

The suggestion to add some essential oil is a good one.

There is very likely several local sources that sell essential oils in your town.

A small bottle of essential oils (peppermint) will only set you back about 10 dollars or less.

Keep in mind, though, that essential oils are powerful and can carry significant risk if you don't take the time to learn about their benefits and dangers.

Some oils, for example, are photosensitive when exposed to sunlight. Put a bunch on and go into the sun and you'll look like a Beauty School Drop Out from the movie Grease took you out to the Overlook for a car necking session.

Other oils are safe to apply "neat" (direct application without dilution with another item) such as pure essential Lavender oil.

There are several mint family essential oils which will give cooling sensation while offering a different olfactory implosion.

There are lots of good information already available on the internet concerning essential oils.

You might take a look at this "Feather Kanwa Herbal Aftershave". I believe there's a couple of members on here that use this. According to the ingedients list, this does contain peppermint extract. Personally I haven't tired it and i'm not sure if it can be used as a "all day moisturizer."

While I am a big fan of the Feather aftershave, I don't find it to have any cooling sensation or peppermint smell for that matter.
