    Default Polo 12 Super opinions?

    Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone is willing to share opinions on Polo 12 Super?

How does it compare to Chubby Super, PJ Super, Rooney's Finest? I am looking for the firm but soft tips dense brush, mostly soap guy but sometimes creams, too.

    Thanks
    Ivo

    Ivo,

If it's a no'n-barbed PL12 super then you will have a densely filled, firm lofted, yet softly feeling brush perfectly for soaps as well as creams.

    Same counts for a non-barbed CH3 super.

However when having a barbed PL or CH then you would have to anticipate much rougher, scratchier feeling bristle tips.

A PJ3 super will have a more flexible loft because of the relatively longer loft shape. Never saw a barbed PJ BTW

Rooney finest is springy, resilient, well filled, firm loft, yet soft at the tips.

    Hope this helps a little...

I'm in no way the brushmeister Peter (DrP) is, but wouldn't a PL12 be too big to use on most soaps? My PL8 seems about the perfect size to load soap on top of those wooden bowls. It seems to me that big brushes are most efficient in creating lather from creams. Or am I mistaken here?

    Frederik,

I have no problems at all using ALL my brushes, even the biggest ones , on soaps.
But theoretically speaking you are right: smaller brushes with a very dense, firm loft should work better on soaps than bigger lofted ones. But the only difference imo is that it takes a little more effort and time to build a lather with a big flexible lofted brush than with a smaller and firmer one.

But eventually the netto result is the same.

    And why hurry when shaving??

    Peter

BTW: i allways take the cake out of the wooden soap bowls and place it in a pewter shaving bowl....more room for swirling , pumping, rotating and pushing....

Thank you all for the answers!

Yes, I am in no hurry when I shave (usually) and love the swirling, pumping, pushing, massaging, etc. As long as the feel is right

    Cheers
