Default Beware of Cammyfive***Re-opened for additional claims -on topic replies only please**

I had hoped to resolve this with Cammyfive, but here are some facts and only facts.
On June 4 I paid him via Paypal for some cologne. His post indicated that he would ship June 8, priority mail, with a delivery confirmation number. I swapped a number of emails with him and he was unable to provide a delivery confirmation number or any proof that he shipped the cologne. He used a friend's Paypal account to receive payment and was unable to refund because his account was frozen. On June 22, I initiated a dispute with Paypal. On June 27 he promised me a refund the next day, from his friend's account, which never happened. Today, Paypal ruled in my favor but was only able to refund $8.35 from his friend. I do not know what will happen with the balance.
My searches indicate that this sort of experience is very rare on B&B and I thought with his post count that this was secure. Buyer Beware...as always. I have more details, but these are the key facts.

Sorry to hear about you're experience. I for one have had nothing but good transactions here. I hope the seller makes it right with you. I know things can come up that might hinder a transaction, but that a rare thing. If a person gets sellers remorse, I think they should go through with the sale and live with the remorse. I have a high regard for the integrity of this forums members. As for flaks, crooks, or scam artists, please go elsewhere. I'll get off my soap box now. Good luck.

I've had good business with Cammyfive before. It's unfortunate you've had an issue on the BST. Without knowing both sides of the story it's hard for anyone to have any input, hopefully it'll be resolved promptly and properly.

Agreed, I definetily got mugged, I ve lost a near mint Merkur HD and Fatboy to him in a trade and he still has not sent me my package, he got my stuff on: 04-03-2009, 01:23 PM and I still havent received mine.

Also he didnt receive to my PMs and e-mails so I started a thread on the forums, I dont want to name names but I know others have had similar experiences with him. He is a thief and it is a shame cos I could have PIF'd that Fatboy. I've traded successfully before so I know most members are not like this but still, I doubt I will ever buy/sell trade here again.

    Cfriend,

There are always two sides to every story. I am just trying to report facts rather than get into subjective feelings. The bottom line is that I paid for something, never received it, never got a tracking number for it, and only got a partial refund from Paypal, after a formal dispute. While it is interesting to know that you had a good transaction, I am trying to warn others that my transaction was far from good.

No offense, but let's not pass judgment until Cammyfive gets a chance to defend himself. I would suggest that possibly he has not returned emails/pm's since it is the 4th and a lot of folks take vacation at this time, but I see he was last logged in at 3:46 am today.

Cammyfive, do you wish to respond to the charges against you? I've never done "business" with Cammyfive but I know his rep is generally pretty solid.

There maybe another way to get your money back in full. Your Paypal account is backed up with a bank account, debit or credit card. Contact the bank or credit card co and dispute it with them. Let them fight it out with Paypal and see what happens. Hopefully its not too late to take this action. Good luck

I'd like to believe he's simply been out of contact for one reason or another, rather than he thiefed your items and OPs money before splitting for good. Hopefully he'll respond soon.

Sorry to hear about the mess. I had a problem with a razor I bought on ebay & had to go thru the paypal dispute process too & I also won the dispute. It can get pretty ugly between buyer & seller when problems arise. It was only for a cheapo item, but it was a matter of principle so I pursued the matter.

I would hope Cammyfive will resolve the situation amicably & explain his side of the story. Obviously, if he has been on the site within the last 24 hours, then he should have the courtesy to communicate with his buyers. I believe most of the members here will bend over backwards to assure a smooth transaction on BST, but like any other site there will be a few who cast negativity over the site. my 0.2 cents

I've been ripped off on ebay quite a few times. Not really here. Sometimes peoples ideas of what constitutes what condition a razor is in can vary, but thats as far as it has gone for me. Sorry to hear about the bad deal. Maybe Cammyfive will come to this thread to deal with the concerns posted.

Yes, he has generally been out of touch. He advised me that he was traveling, between semesters. But, even so, he has logged on to B&B every couple of days and he has received PM's and e-mails. It is certainly appropriate for him to respond on the forum. If I had received a full refund, I would not have posted this thread. There has been more than enough time for him to make things right with me, although I cannot speak to any other transaction. We expect wet shavers to be more trustworthy than the masses on EBay and I am disappointed. In retrospect, I never should have sent money to a Paypal account that was not clearly identifiable as that of the seller.

Thanks for telling us what happened to you.

If people didn't come forward when this happened, it would allow this sort of behaviour to happen to other members.

Cammy was supposed to buy some T&H 1805 Cologne from me via Money Order, he never sent the money order so I never sent the cologne so no big deal. Sorry things did not work out well between the two of you.

Good for you Isbrodsky for alerting the rest of us. Obviously you're not the first one to have a problem with this guy. Hopefully, you'll be the last. The B&B is a gentlemen's club. IMO there's no room for ungentlemanly behavior.

A gentlemen's club, huh, sounds good to me...

Anyway Cammy recently switched back to cartridge razors so this erratic behavior doesn't surprise me in the least. I actually had a smooth and equitable trade with him back in April, so as far as I know he's a decent guy, except for the cartridge nonsense, of course.

    Isbrodsky,

Thank you for alerting us to the problem you had. I think it is important to alert the members when you have truly been ripped off, so they know not to do business with another member.

It's nice that everyone is trying to be so objective and give cammyfive the benefit of the doubt, but it sounds like Isbrodsky has already spent the last month attempting to resolve the problem privately. Obviously, since Cammyfive has been logging onto the forum since the dispute began, Cammyfive is not in traction in the hospital or simply away from his computer. If he can log on to B&B, he can also log on to Paypay to return Isbrodsky's money. If he's having trouble with his Paypal account, he can still send Isbrodsky an email or PM expaining what the issue is, and an estimante of when he can fulfill his end of the bargain. If he can log on to B&B, he can send Isbrodsky a PM. If Cammyfive has his reasons, let's hear them from Cammyfive. Reasons are not excuses. There is no excuse for not following through with your end of the bargain. All Cammyfive had to do was, at the least, return Isbrodsky's PMs or emails.

Isbrodsky is not suggesting we all get torches and burn Cammyfive's house down. He is simply alerting the other members to someone they should not do business with.

Isbrodsky, I hope you get 100% of your money back. Please don't let this one experience stop you from doing business with the 99.99% of people on this forum who are honest and, often times, benevolent.

+1 I like to think there is a great deal on integrity on this forum. I have had nothing but great experiences with every transaction on the BST. I have had members go above and beyond for me, from holding a more expensive item for a week for me until I got paid again, to putting the B&B limited edition brush and razor together for me even though another member had already bought the brush but was willing to accept a refund from the seller so that I could have the matching set. I consider all members of our community that I have had the pleasure of dealing with as true gentlemen.

That being said, It seems to me that there have been several members with problems doing transactions with this member. I know we all like to give someone the benefit of the doubt but I think repeat problems should not go ignored. If someone has logged on to the forum multiple times but refuses or ignores to settle the disputes being claimed I say that speaks for itself.

I really hope this gets settled properly. I know I have made several high dollar transactions on the BST and have had nothing but great things to say about our members and sellers both. I hold our members in highest regards.
