Why would only the alcohol be absorbed? And where is it absorbed to? Fruit may indeed by very porous (especially melon), but it's like a saturated sponge - there's no room for more liquid to be absorbed. If you dip a sponge or cloth into the punch, the entire mix of liquids will be absorbed - the alcohol won't magically separate from the punch and be soaked up. Nope. Not buyin' it.

Ok, Ok, I'm sure you're absolutely right. I didn't say only the alcohol was absorbed by the fruit. Let me rephrase....the fruit absorbs the punch....at least that's how it tastes when you've eaten the fruit. I don't how much punch the fruit can hold above and beyond its own juices as I've conducted no such tests. I just went to the party and consumed the stuff.
