Shavemac shedding large quantities of hair...

Has anyone else had this problem? I bought a Shavemac 163 from vintagebladesllc for 40% off about 1.5 months ago and it has been shedding since day one. It usually looses between 5-10 hairs per shave, but the last 2 out of 3 shaves have been really bad. I am talking over 20 hairs. I was really worried the whole knot would just fall out or something.

Obviously this brush is faulty...I mean if I have lost over 80 hairs in the last month, then this thing has a defect, right? I have only used the brush approximate 20 times. At this rate the 26mm knot will be very thin in a few months time.

I emailed vintageblades describing the problem. Hopefully I can get a replacement or have the handle re-knotted.

Jim is a stand up guy. I'm sure you'll hear back from him. I have yet to lose a hair from my Shavemac in almost 3 months, so I think it's definitely odd.

I think there were two other guys with a similar problem (maybe from the same batch of Shavemacs). They just contacted Bernd and he took care of them.

I had this problem with my 177.. It was shedding 10 to 15 hairs per shave!! I contacted Bernd about mine and he sent a replacement.

This kinda worries me as I just purchased my first Shavemac. Was this a particular run of brushes from VB LLC or directly from Shavemac? I ordered mine from WCS.

I'm one of the two guys biomesh referred to. I had a brush shedding 15+ hairs per shave per 5 days a week...it adds up quickly. Jim referred me to Bernd who quickly replaced the brush, free of charge.

Bernd really prides himself on brush quality... He'll take care of you!
