It looks like compressed wood fibers. What is the story behind this?

1-That looks like a regular open comb (not a slant or slant open comb)

What does the weight and balance feel like? That would be a bizarre shaving experience.

No1 seems to be an Hoffritz Open Comb... I have the same... I would not trade it ever... Even for 1 millions dollars!
Maybe 2...
