Default The Equipment NEEDED for Shaving ...

Here is only the begining of my safety razor NEEDS. Not a collection only what is needed. I left out my st8s for this forum.

These are the ones hidden in the BEAR's SECRET DEN. I won't bother you with the one's taking up the sink space...and to think my wife now asks in an annoyed tone, "are you gonna be in the bathroom". To which I reply, "No I am retiring to my den".

Interesting set-up you got going there. Is that in your bathroom? It looks like what I had in my garage to hang tools, quite a novel idea!

No it's not my bathroom. Yes it is a place where I can work and clean my razors. Sorry the pics are so bad. I keep 3 in my den "bathroom" for use and when I'm finished with them I pick out 3 from the pics above to rotate.

You, sir, have a truly warped sense of the word, "need".

Can't wait to show these pics to the Mrs. It will really put my stuff into perspective for her.

I think you NEED to show pictures of the straights.

I also think there is some space left on that peg board...

    BEAR DEN,

All of your "needed" equipment looks very reasonable to me, with one possible exception. What's the brass piece at the left end of the brushes? I might argue that that piece is excessive and not really needed, but then I'm not sure how you use it in shaving, and I'd really like to know because then I might determine that I need one of those, too?

What razor is that on the left of the top photo?

The piece of brass is from a vintage brush that I removed the knot from and I'm going to try to buy a new knot and make another brush...need one...the razor on the top left is a is a Stahly Live Blade. You wind it up and it vibrates as you shave. Sounds gimmicky but it is really quite a good shaver.

Thanks for the explanation, BEAR DEN. Yes, I think I just might need one of those brass brushes, too. I'm also glad you identified the Stahly as well. I thought it was the brass water sprayer attachment for a garden hose that you had converted into a razor. Now I can stop looking for that!
